Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I know this is the Everton transfer thread so we will have lots of differing views on it.
But I hope that those who constantly moan and give out in numerous posts hour after hour don't do the same in every other aspect of their lives or they must be incredibly miserable.
We all want Everton to do well. But really there's nothing we can do about it . Things could be an awful lot worse . Look at the likes of Morecambe and Sheffield Wednesday.

On the other hand, there are a group of people who always tell everyone that window is going well, or has gone well.

We’ve had so many ‘great transfer windows’ in the last decade, it’s amazing how absolutely crap we’ve been.

What does he offer? No politician answer please I want you to tell me what's good about Brownhill and why no top end team are interested in him

He offers a better football player than Tim Iroegbunam. What actually is your overarching point here?

Are you suggesting we should only be after players that top teams also want? Sounds like the sort of strategy that has got us this far into the window with 17 senior players to be fair.

Was hesitant to pop me head in here last night, seems like things are bubbling over nicely...

It's out of our hands so best not to get overly concerned with these matters.

Let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this all to blow over.

No, we’re 5 or 6 short of where we need to be right now. We shouldn’t be doing important business in the last 2 weeks of the window.
We actually need a complete midfield imo if we are trying to get top half so that's 4/5 alone, only alcaraz and gana worth a start otherwise back towards the bottom, never mind the other positions.
Don't be so melodramatic we'll be nowhere near the relegation places
Why not if this is our squad going into a new season, what's improved on last season. No guarantee our new ground will help until we have made it like goodison and that could take a few seasons. Not melodramatic mate just realistic and fed up with the same old same

The reason we've had a good defensive record in the last couple of years is mainly because we've set up in a very defensive way and played percentage football to minimise errors. The defenders are decent but the constant repetition (not by you) of 'we have a top class defence it's just the attack' isn't really accurate, if we're trying to attack more we'll concede more because a big part of our record has just been having 10 men behind the ball for half the game.

I do massively agree with you but also if you look at the numbers since moyes came back. We conceded 19 in 19 and scored 27 in 19.

Where under dyche we conceded 25 in 19 and scored 15 in 19.

So even though I'll admit moyes is still playing a defensive style of play. It proves we can still play a more attacking style of play then then deffend at all cost football dyche had us playing. So not have to sacrifice the defensive capabilities of the team.

I feel it also shows that the back 5 are what is keeping the goals out (obviously its a team game) and i personally think they where one of the best back lines in the PL last season.

We have 4 players who we shouldn't be looking at improving upon.

Pickford, Branthwaite, Tarkowski/O'Brien, and Ndiaye.

7 positions we either need better in or essentially we will 'make do'
Aznou in theory upgrades and sorts us at left back if Moyes will play him ofc.

4 of the 5 midfield spots are not good enough to be thinking these are starters.

We have no right winger - Garner just isn't good enough, Gueye shouldn't be getting looked at as an every game player, we have no right back and O'Brien is a square peg solution which removes all depth at centre back and leaving Keane as next in line. We dont have a number ten to speak off either - Alcaraz is squad level not someone who should be a nailed on starter. Up front we are hugely dependant on Barry settling quickly - if he takes 4-5 months or a season then we need Beto to stay fit and he's really not good enough to be a nailed on starter also.

At least 4 starters nailed on our needed, in reality we need 6-7 who are either better or at least equivalent to the likes of Gueye.

Again mate, as with Brie my expectation in the rasie the level of quality in the squad, i don think its a total reboot - nor should it be in truth.

I think its a bit of a contradicting argument, we need to replace so many players with more quality that we need to do it by reducing the level of quality of player we need to recruit - not logical to me.

if rather another 3.4 players of absolute quality then another 9 of middling.
