Wouldn't read into that at all. He's hardly going to come our and say yes we're actively trying to sign them and alert other potential buyers.
That said, think there's a few other positions that need filled more urgently than winger.
I think Walsh may just pass muster myself in the fullness of time, all opinions mind.

The way i read it the higher the transfer fee and wages - the higher the risk to the club, the more the caution and the certainty the judgement needs to be that is the general approach.
Its certainly something we talk about here regularly but its good to see that opinion is shard, acknowledged and validated by the club.
Transfers like the ones of the Koeman era are death by a thousand cuts, they undermine the growth of the club for years by the constant blood letting of wages and fees, three years on and we are still suffering the hangover.

Perfect comment really, lets Steve Walsh and his signings know that they were a complete waste of time, and points to us being far more sensible going forward.
