Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

All opinions ofc but I will say (and vaults will show) that I never wanted Frank, Glasner, Howe, or Potter for varying reasons. Some not the right fit others just not being very good in my opinion.

Iraola for me just feels like the right guy at the right time. We would be a good move for him and imo he would be good for us.

Thiago Motta the wildcard pick.
Frank-has a very similar style approach to Moyes
Glasner-is more than good enough and has the record to back it up but clearly it doesn't take much for him to throw his toys out the pram.
Howe not-good enough for me
Potter not-good enough for me
Iraola-Like him a lot but Bournemouth have a very good recruitment team there which helps, he clearly improves players though which I like.
Thiago Motta-I remember him as a player and was aware he had become a manger and done fairly well but don't really know enough about him tbh.

Iraola or Fabregas. Iraola with the premiership experience v the up & comer.
I know there has been a lot of talk of this and by all accounts TFG are big fans but Como are in a CL position and id be surprised if he gave that up, also Fabregas is actually a shareholder at Como therefore part of the ownership model so how would that work.

Yeah this mirrors my feelings pretty much across the board.

The praise that Howe gets on here is pretty mind-boggling to me tbh. I know he claims to be a boyhood blue but come on, we've got to be a bit harder to impress than that.

Motta - as I said would be a bit of a wildcard choice. Free agent. Real pedigree as a player. Did a great job at Bologna and got them Champions League football on a shoestring budget playing quite innovative, attractive and exciting football. Didn't last long at Juve but that was in the middle of them being one of maddest clubs in the world, probably a bit of an impossible job in recent years. I just like the idea of someone new to the league who would bring something a bit different, maybe help us find a new identity and potentially become synonymous with Everton like Wenger at Arsenal.

That's a completely random shout that I landed on when looking at free agents though. Iraola obviously far more likely if a change was actually going to happen

I would simply not experiment here. Dont be West Ham. Proven winners e.g. Emery. The only exception is Iraola. Nowhere near a good enough squad to gamble in this uber competitive division. 1 misstep and you are a bottom 5 club.

I am not suggesting we can get Emery but he was a proven winner when appointed.

He would sell his shares or transfer them to his wife / partner / child / solicitor
Where there’s a will there’s relatives

Arsenal fans might have a tendency to disagree
