I'd add Conte to the list if he's leaving Napoli. He's trash in Europe but domestically he's one of the best managers in the world.

He'd probably break a few of them though.

Bit of a chequebook manager is Conte and like Mourinho he's all about the here and now so the youth team and younger players will be neglected so I don't think he's a natural fit if we want to build for the long-term

This is insane and this is what you "Moyes IN" people will never get through your heads. Bournemouth could have waited until the last game of the season to try for Europe but they didn't; they [Poor language removed] went for it. Moyes NEVER "goes for it". He plays for the draw and hopes to win. They should have beaten City by 2-3 goals, easily. They outworked City, their counters were insane.

I love moyes but im starting to really think that we need to go for iraola.

My main worry is he ends up doing a Ancelotti and binning us off in 18 months for a top club and were left in the crapper

A manager binning us off for a top club mean that he's doing extremely solid work here. Carlo is an extreme outlier.

Carlo was way out of our league. It was an aberration Moshiri ever landed him. If a new Everton manager makes a genuine success of the job here under owners who aren't Krusty the Clown and Sideshow Mel, then they'd have little reason to leave.

Genuine question, when has Everton ever done succession planning? It seems to me it's been knee-jerk for all of my Everton life, and I'm no spring chicken anymore!

We're incredibly bad at the most important aspect of football strategy i.e hiring a quality manager who we can grow with

De Zerbi is too one-sided for me, Iraola can be attacking, but also pragmatic. Yesterday was exemplary

No way do I want De Zerbi after the Greenwood and Marseille stint. He always seemed like a wrong 'un anyway.

Iraola is my number one choice and I'd be really disappointed at the ambition of the club if we don't pounce when managers like this are available and targets arguably haven't been met.

But hiring Ancelotti instead of moyes was essentially the start of our downfall into relegation fodder.

Him leaving completely destabilised the whole club.

Although if moyes is only going to be here for 1 more season. Then i see little reason to not go for iraola now.

Unfortunately, the more i think about it the more sense it makes to get him in.

Hes a young hungry highly rated coach, who will focus on improving the young players we've invested in and plays a attractive style of football. Hes also got a avarage of 1.44 points per game in the premier league and always been well clear of the relegation zone.

Im struggling to see the negatives of us going with iraola over moyes tbh.
