Successful Company

hey if we HAVE to move why not with one of the country's largest companies. I'm against the move but I think Tesco would be one of the best partners to do it with.

I've got no problem with Tesco (except for the quality of their pies) but, apart from this proposed move not being right for the club anyway, I don't think the club negotiated a very good deal with them at all. We seem to have their building contractor at "mates rates" & some cross-subsidy from the additional retail units - the value of which, last I heard, was equivalent to about half a stand. Now if the Board/CEO had negotiated a deal whereby we handed over Bellefield & Goodison & told them to keep their cross-subsidy just build us a stadium if they want us on board, I'd consider that a decent deal. Mind you, it'd still be no good for us in that location & with all the restrictions on stadium use from the council, but that's hardly Tesco's fault.

Tesco are only in the Kirkby development for Tesco. Everton are no more than a means of getting another outlet for more profits.(n)

No one forced people to shop there, it was all free choice. Besides, Tesco have less of a monopoly on groceries than the government do on education and health (if that doesn't drag Dave out nothing will)

The difference being that we, the general public, haven't actually consented to the Tesco monopoly. I think we have, even if only tacitly, consented to the government monopoly.

[Back me up, Dave]
