Think City bought a decent player for crazy money on the 3rd time of trying..

Lescott didn't get many games
Rodwell was a really below average player
Stones actually IS quality. I think he will fit in well tbh.

Worst thing that can happen to our young players is to get called up by england. Hart and the ladyboy has been in John's ear all summer urging him to come and the same happened with the Utd lads and Rooney. You can absolutely guarantee it's happening to Ross as well

hope he snaps his legs and does a rodwell, all for players wanting to better themselves and no problem with it, it's how you go about it, constantly handing in transfer requests and kicking up a fuss 2 years in a row despite us sticking by him when he was awful in the second half of the season ( more brown shoes fault )

saying that the lad is absolute class and will be amazing under pep so it's just wanna them init

The revisionism in this is genuinely hilarious hahah

Exactly would have done his career immeasurably more good to go to one of the top three Spanish sides.
The lad is a git.
I don't gamble as a rule, but this time last year I placed a £10 bet (ooh, big time) that he would sign for Barcelona for £50 mill before this coming season. Instead, he signs for their 'old' boss and I get sod all.
But after saying that, I do believe that the lad had his best season in El Loco's first term when he was covered all the season by Jags.
My own opinion is, that he will be a 'potential' unless he really does the bis. at Citeh from the off. If not, well, who cares! A handful of games, in goes a transfer request at the end of last season, and hey presto.......The future Franny Jeffers.

Another English player who will go to City, not get in the team and bye bye career. Soon as he makes a mistake, which he will, he will be dropped and then loaned out some where

It might be but with Ross it will be a lot harder, Stones was never interested in Everton, was just passing through, Ross is very much different having been here since he was 7. With Rooney it was timing and the mess we we're in back then that made it easier, but Ross we really don't need to sell and can't see us gettig any crazy offers anyway.

He will no doubt be better under pep if he plays than Roberto - koeman we won't know. But if we was selling rom I would be crying into my cornflakes, were selling a defender who isn't quite that yet for loads of money and replacing him with other players. Good luck stones but I'm not even assed one bit and can't wait for bolasie to smoke you.

Disgraceful comment saying that about any player.
Handing in a request once which was rejected and he behaved as a complete professional even though during the season he got dropped under the bus more than once by Martinez.

Perhaps he just had enough of fickle fans like you good sir?

My sentiments as well matey. People who say he cant defend talk utter crap sometimes. Im sure his style of football will begin to shine with better players around him. There were times last season he was made to look poor because other players weren't on the same wavelength as him. At times they stood round like cardboard cut outs, making it difficult for to play and move. Said before, good luck to him, no hard feelings from me.

I don't think many of his critics, including myself, are saying he can't defend. For instance, he was purchased as a right back and could do a half decent job there where his defensive frailties wouldn't have such damning consequences. Likewise, possibly a defensive midfielder role.

However, it's my humble opinion that he's yet to prove himself in the pivotal role of centre half - frankly, you can either do it you can't in my book - and I hope for his sake he gets the coaching and game time at City to help him make the grade. If he doesn't, he could very well find himself languishing at the likes of West Brom, Villa or Sunderland.

Whatever the case, like Colin Harvey before me, I still prefer Cahill as an out and out centre half. Again, just my humble opinion.

Im not sure what to think about John Stones to be honest, he put in a transfer request but kept his head down until the clubs agreed a deal, so fair play to him.

Compare this to Romelu Lukaku who wont hand in a transfer request through losing loyalty bonuses etc yet runs his mouth off to everybody/anybody willing to listen.

I think John Stones has moved for the 'pep factor' and his England chances more than money.
I think he behaved professionally at all times. He doesn't appear to be money driven at all either. We are turning it around as a club but he will win things sooner at City than he will with us. His England career has also been boosted as he now plays for a media clique club. Football is a short career and he has rolled the dice for the immediate shot at medals. I wish he had stayed but he just doesn't care about Everton as we do. It's part of football life and his departure should ultimately strengthen us through new recruits.

I do hope though that he never wins a thing, gets jibbed off by Allardyce and realises in 20 years time that Hickson, Ball, Cahill were right. Everton never leaves you and it is the place he should have stayed.

Whether he does well or not bothers me not now, cos he's no longer our player. I've liked his contribution though, he gave us an extra year, even though it didn't turn out how we wanted, and his skills have brought the club a big bucket of money, and a profit that allows us (ffp) to now expand. We've used him as a stepping stone, so I'm grateful and would not wish him ill.

Would love to see him do a Cruyff turn against us which loses possession and results in a goal though.
