All he wanted was parity with our other two big earners which was perfectly acceptable, we took the piss and he rightly moved on.

Ok let's dissect this shall we?

For starters, he thought several clubs were after him - they weren't. He stalled on his contract because he thought he was gonna get big moolah and/or waltz into the likes of tottenham or chelsea (Who were never interested).

That does not make his stock rise, or give him the upper hand in pay talks.

We refused to pay what he wanted (Rightfully). And he came out with all sorts of excuses (his tax bill was one IIRC) on why he was stalling. Only when he was close to being able to sign a pre-contract did he come out with the top-earner mullarkey. And once that was known, it was a lot more than just me thought he weren't worth it.

So, thinking he's gonna get the moolah elsewhere, but only 'awwy gives him what he wants. But even 'awwy realises pienaar's not all that, and pienaar can't make it into their side - and is injured for the other half of the time (carting his dough to the bank, no doubt).

Moylez, being the tool he was/is, is completely jiggered about any sort of replacement, so he reverts to type, and brings him back. Pienaar then gives it the 'I wanna come home' shabbite, and plays his best football during the loan spell to get those gullible enough to have happily seen him on top dough, to appeal for his re-signing...On the money he was after in the first place.

Gets his contract, the gullible are pleased, despite warnings of what'll eventually happen....And guess what? It happens.

Avaricious, wife-beating rat went crying to the press at the end of last season too, IIRC. Brass-necked little shabbite hasn't been fit (Allegedly) for abar three-quarters of the time since he returned, too....And he's whining about not being offered a new one?
G'wed - GTF. (pienaar - not you ;) )

I agree with this.

He didn't actually create that much in reality, and Spurs seen that.

lol lol

But rustled you.

The offers were there, Spurs and qpr firm offers and Chelsea were heavily linked by respected sources at the time. He did get big moolah compared to what we were offering.

He couldn't get in the side because of a certain ape looking Welshmen beasting it.

Moyes rightfully brought him back when he realised how much we'd missed him and how much it'll cost to get another replacement.

Are you going to critisised Baines for going to the press then? Oh forgot, he's one of our own bullshit. Double standards

No ones to know if he was injured during all that time, he says he wasn't, Bobby says he was. The sheer nonsense Roberto comes out with means I'm to believe piennar in this matter

It was no coincidence Baines had his best spell (Attacking-wise) in the period pienaar was at spurs. We weren't drastically affected (At either end) by pienaar's absence, and weren't drastically affected by his return (post loan spell).

lol

That's the season of drenthe and strac no?

That was hands down the worst most negative side I've seen in decades at Everton, so we were effected.

And you've still not answered, how many of them Baines goals were free kicks and pens

Mate, pienaar's capable of playing in more than one midfield position. Had he been any good then he would've eventually replaced modric, but he's not anywhere's close to being a tenth as good as modric....Or Van der Vaart for that matter

Maybe dortmund had good reason not to like him. :coffee:

Dunno - do you?

And what does it matter? Baines scored free kicks and pens anyway. Just means someone else other than pienaar was winning them, doesn't it?

Because other than that, he didn't do much else.

There's literally only about 3 or 4 midfielders in the world who are better than modric though.

Terrible argument that

Because you are saying he was at his best attacking wise. No, just means he put away more free kicks and penalties.

Yeah Baines and then piennar, the two we basically played through for several years

The fact that our left back was our most creative player is a very poor and negative reflection on Everton in that period.

Pienaar got around 50 assist and 25 goals, in around 250 games for Everton.

He was decent and at times pretty good, but lets not go over-board.
