Fans like you make my want to cry, no ambition at all, and probably no idea what our club is about.

And your age is very evident.
And for the record I've seen us win titles and cups so I know exactly what this clubs about.

Your age seems pretty evident with such a unrealistic view of our club over the past 25-30 years

lol lol lol

There's having blue tinted specs and then there's been straight up soft in the head.

How on earth did you think we could've competed with the likes of Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal?

At best you can hope for a flukey season and that got us 4th but to think we should've been competing with clubs on a whole different level to us makes me a realists and you off your head

Would've loved for us to compete for the leagues, impossible when you're having to sell your best players to simply stay afloat though

Winning trophies is success, and if we are not winning then we are not successful.

You seem to have re-written what "success" means, so are celebrating us being very 'meh', something Moyes pushed with media and fans, but only the young ones where really taken in by it.

We should never ever celebrate mediocre, NEVER. I don't care how mush or how little we spend ffs.

The fact that we were struggling to stay afloat and looking odds on to be relegated multiple times over all that time does mean a steady decade of top 7 finishes was classed as a success, it is a shame what this club has become but that's what was needed. Hopefully mosh can kick us on now, but to simply say not winning trophies or competing for the title during a time when we were on our ass and the top 4 was a monopoly wasn't 'successful' isn't right.

It's a sign of the utter failings of the previous boards that simply staying in this league was an achievement at times

I will never ever call 5th/6th/7th a success, sorry mate, that's for Bolton/Stoke/Hull etc. Its nothing at all to get excited about.

what a silly little comment. You don't support a club to win stuff, if you did go and support someone who will. Maybe at some point Everton will win a cup or the league, that'd be good, but it really isn't the be all and end all. It's a pretty small part actually

Whoosh.

You have completely missed the whole point.

I don't expect anything, I go week in and week out, regardless of results, and if we are poor then so be it, but lets not dress up finishing 7th as success, its not.

It become trendy to re-write what "success" is, in MOyes ere. Wenger has also done it with the 4th place = Trophy comments.

He's not doing that though is he mate?

He's saying Steven Pienaar was a good player, at a time when we didn't have a lot of good players

Just because we weren't a very good TEAM doesn't mean that Pienaar wasn't a good player does it?

You seem to be of the opinion that because we won nothing in that period none of our good players from that period deserved to be recognised

People still, rightly, talk about Bob Latchford and we won square root of nothing when he played for us

Just because a team doesn't win anything doesn't mean the players in it aren't worth anything. You may think otherwise, but you'd be wrong to do so. It's a very callous way to view the world in all honesty. If you want to be that way then more power to you, but it's not for me

It was a success to an extent, compared to the decade and more that went before [barring a mid 90s blip] and it's fine for people to say it is
