i remember Roberto raving about Pienaar being unique and how important to the team. I genuinely thought he was injured for most of last season, but if he was fit and Kone was getting in the side ahead of him that's just stranger than strange. thank the lord he went when he did

To be fair though Roberto also raved about the tea lady doing a phenomenal job and making really unique beverages in a fantastic moment of her career too.

Based on?

Even in his fleeting appearances in recent seasons he was still one of our better players
Based on his performances the last 3 seasons where he's looked behind the pace of the game. Created nothing, lost the ball in possession. Even in league cup against Dag&Red he looked below the standard of the game.

as i say, in his day, one of my favourite players to watch.

He was one of our best players in bobbys first season and in the following two despite supposedly being 'injured' he was always one of our better performers when given game time, that cup game aside

Your mistaking the general performance of a RM team!:)

If he joins the team we would need him in the middle. I didn't think he could get any slower than he already was, but he looked painfully slow last season. He still has the vision and the desire to win the ball back, which i like from a creative player.

Couldn't disagree more, even in our first season when we were playing some great football under Martinez, I'm pretty sure he got one goal and maybe one or two assists.

During our decline in Martinez final two seasons, he always looked one of the poorest players in a side struggling for any form.

I don't dislike Pienaar, as I've said, he was one of my favourite players providing us with some great years and I hope he does OK at Sunderland.
