If he has any interest in coaching after he stops playing then Everton would be wise to employ him, gifted footballer could benefit our youth perhaps? Also nice one for that chip against Arsenal Stevie!

have to say, no from me. Think we have enough backroom staff.

From a legal point of view mate, the word 'allegedly' is a great thing. Use it often.

Gotta say I had a big soft spot for Pienaar. I don't think we've properly replaced him since he fell off the radar so to speak.

I'll be honest first time I saw him play at goodison, I thought he was too lightweight and that he wouldn't be able to handle the physicality of the premier league. Boy did he prove me wrong. Technically gifted football in the Ajax mould, with a great work ethic. His partnership with Baines is right up there with the sheedy - van de hawe partnership of the 80s. Can't pay him any higher compliment to say that Baines hasn't been as effective offensively of defensively since piennar's absense from the side. A quality player, one that is going to be very hard to replace.

Remember being furious when we had him on loan and it looked like we were struggling to do a deal to sign him. For me (first game 1967) he could play in any Everton team I have witnessed in his prime.

Have to say I fell out of love when he went chasing the £££ to spurs. Was never the same player after that.

Like most on here I truly appreciated his undoubted skills, pound for pound he always punched well above his weight. I wish him well for the future and look forward to seeing him in their side this season. We he returns he'll hardly recognise the new EFC line up. Good luck to you Pieman and thanks for the memories of you and Leighton running rings round defences, a pure pleasure.
