Current Affairs Stabbing incident in Southport

He asked a very specific question asking what the problem was with that account he posted.

It was pointed out that the account was/is one of the main contributors to the disinformation that helped cause the trouble last night.

His reaction was literally he can post what he likes.

I didn't ask that question.

The good thing about forums, is everything is there.

And here it is - me asking if a video was in the location the still/media report said.

The murder of children will bring all emotions - including anger.

But why at a Mosque?

I can see stuff online about a bloke with a knife - but god knows if true?

That's in Southport. I know where it's is..

Is this?

No clue on the source. He follows GOT so it was high on my feed;

Yep. That's princes street.

One look at that account should tell you it’s not a source worth posting or listening to.

Why mate?

It's in the media now and people on here have said it's the same location?

@Ferguson1878 just shared a press link, and @Tramps_mate and @RomanReigns have confirmed it's the same location.

Appreciate not everything on social real time is true - as I prefixed.

Again

And?

You asked why you shouldn’t share something from that source.

I’m on my phone too btw, it literally took me 5 seconds.

I'll share whatever I like on here. Thanks.

In fact, I'll share it again.

I asked why people had a problem with me asking if the footage was in the same place as the previous tweets image still.

It was in the media, and then the police confirmed.

There's plenty of people sharing Tommy Robinson tweets etc in here and not a peep. Everyone can share content for comment.

I’m not gonna labour the point because, again, it’s not where our focus should really be, but it seems mad to ignore what is being reported pretty widely in favour of an assumption you’ve made off a snippet of footage on TV.

It comes across as kind of right-wing apologist.
Mad interpretation! My point is there are right wing fools everywhere and the assumption that there are few on merseyside and have to be bussed in is weird.

I think there definitely were some from other parts of the country. Did you watch any of the livestream? The guy who was wearing the "free sam melia" t-shirt being photographed in front of the coppers; he's a known far right organiser apparently. There were definitely locals, but there would have been plenty from further afield too.
Yeh I did see him, looked an utter prick as well - gloryfying his crap in front of coppers getting bricked

Fair enough, it would seem like I grasped the wrong end of the stick in that case. Genuine apologies.

FWIW I don’t think it’s the case that any “had to be” bussed in; they very much wait around for the first opportunity to put their horrendous views on full display, and then treat it like an away day.

At least we can say that those giving their time today to clean up the mess and help the community are from the area and that should give us all a little sense of pride and hope, at least.

It's annoying me seeing on Twitter the right wing lot posting about the bloke with the knife "that's what triggered the scenes outside the mosque".

Does anyone have the photo or details where they'd organised to go there in advance anyway?

Here - worth noting that "Ben" is a highly dubious source and so his assertion that it was Southport residents who organised this rally is probably untrue.

I don't really think I've been over emotional tbh, I've stated I was fine with you originally posting the tweet, just thought it was strange of you to re-post it cos at the end of the day, 'ben' is a POS who'll comment anything to get engagements.

We can't start saying content can't be shared on here for comment - if you don't like the author of that content.

As I said, if someone shared a post from Tommy Robinson and people were slating him for it, should we wade in and say "You can't go posting content from him!!!"

There's nothing wrong with the video. It was accurate.

I'll repost it if I have to defend myself from nonsense to demonstrate context.

I'll repost it to prove a point that cry arsing around posts in this forum doesn't work either.

"I don't like what this person is saying" - so what? Log off then.
"You can't post that". I can. You can.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING SHARING CONTENT FROM THAT ACCOUNT LAD.

OUTRAGEOUS.

... he's an Evertonian, him too. Btw. Follows GOT/loads of Everton accounts - which is why his video with 1m+ views was top of my feed.

I know, just seeing him doing that makes me think there were plenty more outsiders, along with the other accents that can be heard, plus the fact that professional instigators jump on things like this at the first given opportunity; there's very likely been a mix of locals and many others IMO.

What happened last night wasn't in the interest of the victims. It was scum behaviour.

For me I won't give them another seconds thought. They have had their moment. now it is time for the locals to get back to what is important.

Not nice hearing the amount of injured officers. Especially given some of them where involved in Mondays incident too. I hope they get all the support they need.

Here we go again!!

More concerned about the reaction to an action.

Everyone going on about the anger on the streets more than the perpetrator in all this.
A 'kin guy has just murdered kids and seriously hurt adults and the outrage is about locals throwing stones at police or burning police vans! Quite frankly i dont give a toss about that, until the government/Police start protecting us from such atrocities then expect the same.

Im not saying what happened in Southport last was right, but the issue is to find out how and why a guy with these capabilities to cause carnage is allowed to walk the streets.

All im reading is these "racists nobheads" rioting

Is no one questioning whether the brutal murder of kids was not a racist attack??
What was his motive?
Does he have mental health issues?
Did the authorities know about him?
Was he not known to the police or was it an attack out of rage?
