I am not buying this - they all looked like they were local to me, - just angry people from the area. There was nothing to suggest "bussing in of activists"
Firstly, it’s a massive stretch to call them ‘activists’.

Secondly, it seems to be mentioned in every mainstream news article that a decent proportion of those in attendance were not from the Merseyside area.

I think you need to relax a bit. What @GrandOldTeam was alluding to was the story itself. Yes some of the details were untrue like the machete and it being the cause of the violence. But the story was there.

He asked a very specific question asking what the problem was with that account he posted.

It was pointed out that the account was/is one of the main contributors to the disinformation that helped cause the trouble last night.

His reaction was literally he can post what he likes.

This has all basically been cleared now. Local plant company provided grabbers and JCB. Local building contractors clearing waste and debris. Local glazers offering to repair windows for free. Local fencing company repairing gates for free. The community is fixing what was caused by outsiders.

Some good updates in here..

That’s brilliant

What aren't you buying? The protest was organised online, Do you think hundreds of people just randomly showed up outside a mosque?

Every person I saw on the tv was just a random fat bloke, a girl from next door and a load of youths in crap trackkies, they all knew each other ffs - I saw one st george cross. It was just locals protesting and then a few local right wing knobs turned the mood.

@Bishop Thumpety-Thump

Don't be afraid to tag me, gents. It's a courtesy when making some rather nasty comments. I'd have missed otherwise - thanks @Tramps_mate

To revisit;

The footage I shared to ask if the first was the same location, has been proven to be correct - as per police confirmation.

People took the knock because they didn't think it would be/was true. It was.

If you don't like the person's Twitter/X account who shared it, I really couldn't care.

I wouldn't expect people to vet someone's social media history before sharing comment on what they share/say. I did say "no clue on the source" because generally, I'd skim but the footage looked real to me which proved to be the case.

To be fair at least you’re owning that you’re not arsed about posting dreadful far right accounts.

I think there definitely were some from other parts of the country. Did you watch any of the livestream? The guy who was wearing the "free sam melia" t-shirt being photographed in front of the coppers; he's a known far right organiser apparently. There were definitely locals, but there would have been plenty from further afield too.

I’m not gonna labour the point because, again, it’s not where our focus should really be, but it seems mad to ignore what is being reported pretty widely in favour of an assumption you’ve made off a snippet of footage on TV.

It comes across as kind of right-wing apologist.

It's annoying me seeing on Twitter the right wing lot posting about the bloke with the knife "that's what triggered the scenes outside the mosque".

Does anyone have the photo or details where they'd organised to go there in advance anyway?

Again

He specifically asked what was wrong with the source.

The source is a far right account that repeatedly posts disinformation, some of which led to the riots last night.

It’s really not hard to understand.
Thanks. Was the content disinformation? Yes or no will suffice.
