Not really. The USA is far to big for them to take on, the British & French could batter Russia or China. Do not underestimate the power and capability of the NATO alliance. This is why Russia is already flying it's people out........

Perhaps, but Syria has the greater chance of becoming a proxy war for other nations, moreso than any other war in decades. No good answer, war is never good but Syria isn't figuring itself out.
