Whoever puts the syrian rebels on the path to victory will reap the rewards that come with it once they are placed in power. Get in there Dave.

On a serious not I wouldn't stand and watch in the street if a couple of fella's were kicking fcuk out of a scrawny kid. What's the difference?

Jihadists will be the big winners of Assad's downfall. It's almost laughable: the West kills millions trying to get on top of the Al Qaeda network...and now they'll fire off hundreds of cruise missiles to aid them to victory and probably seize the type of weaponry that'll be used against western forces.

It's so ****ing daft the British military top brass miltary are advising against it.

Cameron must have his foreign war though...it'll look great on the CV when he retires and joins the boards of arms manufacturers.

Crossing a street is no more harder than sending planes and missiles to Syria.

But if that street was in, say, Luton...

I'm not even sure if I know what point you're trying to make, to be honest. To me, this is a fight between two evenly matched pugilists in a seedy part of town.

My serious question...I can't think of a good reason that the left of center Obama would want to get involved in Syria. If the US does get involved, do you think it's the UK pushing the US to do them a favor?

Spot on!They'll be lining their own pockets in the process aswell, unbelievable really.

I dont know. It looks like Libya and Syria weren't high priority for the US. Maybe, besides being politically unpopular, they have less economic interest in those two places whilst Britain and France do, and the trade off is continued lap dog European support for whatever adventure the yanks want to go on in future as long as Britain and France get their way on Libya and Syria.

Fighting Al Qaeda on one front and then defending them on another. 'Kin Mental!!

Maybe this is the reasoning behind the western politicians' "logic"; if they come to the aid of AQ and the jihadists in Syria, perhaps it will help to build bridges between us and them. Perhaps there has already been dialogue, with 'deals' brokered.
