Nope...................

The shambles of the team selections he has made in the last four games, culminating in playing Rooney and Siggurdson as wingers on Sunday?
Might be a nice fella, might be one of us (what does that mean?).............but completely out of his depth managing a top club in a top league.
I can't for the life of me see what he has done to prove to people he's capable.
The last four games have been shocking, yes we won on Sunday but could have been well and truly stuffed
he has played two prem games won one lost one - he has tried to polish a turd of a squad too fetching younger players in - he needs more games before we panic hire someone like BIG SAM!

His substitutions won the game too. Rooney and Sigurdson are our two most creative players, for a team that can't score goals we need to find a way to play both.

The major factor in hoping Unsy can do well is he is the best man to bring the best crop of young players we've had come through and get them integrated into the first team. Could be be golden that if it works out. Priceless more like.
Another manager is less likely to trust in youth when they're all looking short term, looking after themselves unsurprisingly. Unsy should at least be given another 3 games and see how it's going. If theres good reason then to get someone else then fair enough. You've got to give the lad a fair crack of the whip though.

No polishing of turds required, all he has had to do is pick the right players in the right positions and he hasn't. If you think Rooney and Siggurdson are wingers, good luck..............if he does, oh my god.

He's had a chance and balls'd it up.....time to move on

His substitutions were needed as we were getting beat as a result of his shocking line up. When he reverted to a sensible line up, we did better............but his hands were forced, it certainly wasn't a moment of genius

No mate my comment was this..

'What can you expect from a manager after 4 games in the situation Unsworth found himself in, the type of situation where, at another club, a Pulis or Allardyce would probably be appointed. In my simple opinion it is;'

I'll put it in simple for you.. 'WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A MANAGER AFTER 4 GAMES AT A CLUB WHO IS STRUGGLING, IN MY SIMPLE OPINION IT IS;'

There is no direct comparison between what Unsworth has done and what Allardyce would have done there in the first 4 games. The only comparison with Allardyce I made was basically saying another club in our situation may appoint that type of manager.

So therefore I don't see how my argument based on my opinion can be flawed.

However, seens as you are so desperate to point out it takes more that 4 games to achieve what, in my opinion, can be expected from a manager in 4 games which was to stop conceding from set pieces, see improvements in the teams defensive organisation, go back to basics with a simple balanced formation and line up. Let me actually make a direct comparison to someone, Tony Pulis......

Pulis went into Crystal Palace and West Brom who were in a relegation dog fight, worse than we are now and in his first 4 games combined at each club he kept a total of 5 clean sheets with 4 wins and 1 draw. That to me shows it quite possible to improve a teams organisation and a teams positioning from set pieces in 4 games.

I'm not expecting Unsworth to achieve what Pulis did in that short space of time, my point was it is worrying how there has been no improvements at all. And as he has no previous track record of organising a team and setting up a solid defence, it is far to risky to give him the job for the season.

He needs to go down the leagues and prove himself, like any other manager. The only exception to that would have been if he had worked wonders in those 4 games. Which he clearly hasn't. His in-experience will show sooner or later.
Wow patronising and omitting the one sentence out that changes what you've said. Here is what you said:
"What can you expect from a manager after 4 games in the situation Unsworth found himself in, the type of situation where, at another club, a Pulis or Allardyce would probably be appointed. In my simple opinion it is;

- Stop other sides scoring from set pieces.
- Begin to tighten up the defence and improve the whole sides organisation, looking like a team that can keep a clean sheet.
- Go back to basics with a simple balanced formation which doesn't over complicate things.
- Look a threat from set pieces and look like a team that can nick a goal.

The above have been key traits of managers like Pulis and Alladyce going into a side in a relegation battle who are shot in confidence, shipping in goals and not scoring many themselves."
I pointed out to you that Allardyce - who you've just specifically used as an example - doesn't fit the criteria that you have applied because he didn't do that in the first 7 games at Palace, in fact he performed worse than the previous manager before he turned it around. I'll repeat the stats in case you've forgotten: W 1, D 1, L 5, goals for 4, goals against 16 including a 4-0 thrashing at home by relegation rivals Sunderland. Now you can't have this both ways you've stated what we should expect within 4 games and specifically used Allardyce as an example, yet Allardyce didn't achieve your criteria in 7 games let alone 4. If you can't see that makes your argument flawed then I can't help you.

Have to admit I'm surprised at the clear dismissal of Unsworth. 82% saying No. The roughly 20/80 ratio has held since the poll's early stages so even with a few hundred more votes this pattern will likely continue.

Great going, lads! From 18% saying yes to now 24%. At this rate if we win our next game with Unsy still in charge we might have the majority backing him.

Exactly what it says mate.

Might be a nice fella, might be one of us (what does that mean?).............

It means someone who chiefly identifies with one club due to his service to that club leaving an indelible mark on him forever.

Once Everton has touched you and all that good stuff.

Utter bullcrap!
The passion was there in the end did he send that on as a substitute too- we would have never won that 2-0 down with Koeman!
