It doesn't take too much coaching to insist on a deep line, and with our players totally unsuited to such a system today, its baffling that we are still suicidal at back - either Rhino picked the wrong priorities, or he isn't that good in tactical coaching. Judging from Baningime's good personal performance even when positionally super suspect I would suggest the later.
We have played a deep line. It was about as effective as a high line and a medium line :-)

It might be easy to get carried away with emotion as he's 'homegrown' and yesterday's comeback was pretty special. Worth bearing in mind though, that until mid way through the second half yesterday he was probably the worst caretaker since Ian Huntley.
Don't really agree but lol lol lol

if Gomez hadn't of had to go off, we would of lost that match.

we can not hire someone on sentiment.

we need the best possible manager available or our club

only the best will do

Cannot understand why he never selected Lookman or Vlasic (is the latter injured?) but at least he changed things later and got away with it. He was on a hiding to nothing after koeman was sacked...3 difficult away games which some people expected miracles from.. was never going to happen. Made up for him yesterday and hope he stays at our club but I don't think he is the answer atm...........and then I think about the danger of fatsam or dyche coming here.....arrrrggghhh!!!

A fantastic bloke and a passionate Blue, but we need a more experienced and savvy manager. (Excluding Allardyce)

Of my list....

You made the direct comparison with Unsworth failing to improve the team enough in 4 games/12 days with what Allardyce would do when he took over a failing team. I have pointed out that it takes more than 4 games to do this and used the example of Allardyce at Palace when the situation actually got worse defensively over 7 games before it improved. Not sure there's a lot to add, your argument is flawed as is your example.

No mate my comment was this..

'What can you expect from a manager after 4 games in the situation Unsworth found himself in, the type of situation where, at another club, a Pulis or Allardyce would probably be appointed. In my simple opinion it is;'

I'll put it in simple for you.. 'WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A MANAGER AFTER 4 GAMES AT A CLUB WHO IS STRUGGLING, IN MY SIMPLE OPINION IT IS;'

There is no direct comparison between what Unsworth has done and what Allardyce would have done there in the first 4 games. The only comparison with Allardyce I made was basically saying another club in our situation may appoint that type of manager.

So therefore I don't see how my argument based on my opinion can be flawed.

However, seens as you are so desperate to point out it takes more that 4 games to achieve what, in my opinion, can be expected from a manager in 4 games which was to stop conceding from set pieces, see improvements in the teams defensive organisation, go back to basics with a simple balanced formation and line up. Let me actually make a direct comparison to someone, Tony Pulis......

Pulis went into Crystal Palace and West Brom who were in a relegation dog fight, worse than we are now and in his first 4 games combined at each club he kept a total of 5 clean sheets with 4 wins and 1 draw. That to me shows it quite possible to improve a teams organisation and a teams positioning from set pieces in 4 games.

I'm not expecting Unsworth to achieve what Pulis did in that short space of time, my point was it is worrying how there has been no improvements at all. And as he has no previous track record of organising a team and setting up a solid defence, it is far to risky to give him the job for the season.

He needs to go down the leagues and prove himself, like any other manager. The only exception to that would have been if he had worked wonders in those 4 games. Which he clearly hasn't. His in-experience will show sooner or later.

Rhino is a cracking lad and a great U23s manager, but we've conceded 9 goals and suffered 3 defeats under his stewardship... ...in just 4 matches.

Nope...................

The shambles of the team selections he has made in the last four games, culminating in playing Rooney and Siggurdson as wingers on Sunday?
Might be a nice fella, might be one of us (what does that mean?).............but completely out of his depth managing a top club in a top league.
I can't for the life of me see what he has done to prove to people he's capable.
The last four games have been shocking, yes we won on Sunday but could have been well and truly stuffed

I'm amazed Unsy hasn't hit the ground running and changed us into world beaters yet. Ok granted it's only been 4 games against tough opposition, away from home, without much time on the training pitch, but still, you know, magic wand and all that.
