You made the direct comparison with Unsworth failing to improve the team enough in 4 games/12 days with what Allardyce would do when he took over a failing team. I have pointed out that it takes more than 4 games to do this and used the example of Allardyce at Palace when the situation actually got worse defensively over 7 games before it improved. Not sure there's a lot to add, your argument is flawed as is your example.
No mate my comment was this..
'What can you expect from a manager after 4 games in the situation Unsworth found himself in, the type of situation where, at another club, a Pulis or Allardyce would probably be appointed. In my simple opinion it is;'
I'll put it in simple for you.. 'WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A MANAGER AFTER 4 GAMES AT A CLUB WHO IS STRUGGLING, IN MY SIMPLE OPINION IT IS;'
There is no direct comparison between what Unsworth has done and what Allardyce would have done there in the first 4 games. The only comparison with Allardyce I made was basically saying another club in our situation may appoint that type of manager.
So therefore I don't see how my argument based on my opinion can be flawed.
However, seens as you are so desperate to point out it takes more that 4 games to achieve what, in my opinion, can be expected from a manager in 4 games which was to stop conceding from set pieces, see improvements in the teams defensive organisation, go back to basics with a simple balanced formation and line up. Let me actually make a direct comparison to someone, Tony Pulis......
Pulis went into Crystal Palace and West Brom who were in a relegation dog fight, worse than we are now and in his first 4 games combined at each club he kept a total of 5 clean sheets with 4 wins and 1 draw. That to me shows it quite possible to improve a teams organisation and a teams positioning from set pieces in 4 games.
I'm not expecting Unsworth to achieve what Pulis did in that short space of time, my point was it is worrying how there has been no improvements at all. And as he has no previous track record of organising a team and setting up a solid defence, it is far to risky to give him the job for the season.
He needs to go down the leagues and prove himself, like any other manager. The only exception to that would have been if he had worked wonders in those 4 games. Which he clearly hasn't. His in-experience will show sooner or later.
