I'd rather have Dyche than Allardyce but, would prefer neither.
If they really wanted Unsworth then he would've been given more than this stretch of 4 games (Chelsea away in the cup, Leicester away with their new manager, Lyon away in Europe and then finally a home game against a Watford side that has travelled well so far!) to prove his worth.
If, they think he could be the manager then today's game was, the first in a run of games, that we should realistically get good points from and after that you know where we are at. I think, it was a half hearted attempt to give him a chance and fair play to him, for standing up and taking crap off the likes of Barton etc ffs.
However, he should either drop back to the U-23's until he gets a real chance of being manager somewhere, or maybe is assistant to whoever is given the managers job.

Have to admit I'm surprised at the clear dismissal of Unsworth. 82% saying No. The roughly 20/80 ratio has held since the poll's early stages so even with a few hundred more votes this pattern will likely continue.
I understand the concerns, but I honestly don't see an Allardyce, Dyche or Moyes doing much better, especially with the latter two having relegation on their CV, and none of them having a significant trophy to their name. Maybe a lot of the 80% are still holding out for a better alternative candidate...

Depends who the alternatives are. If Fat Sam or Dyche, I'd be tempted to stick with him. If someone like Tuchel, then no from me. At the end of the day he's making a big step up and having to learn as he goes a bit. Part of me would like to see if he's got the balls to learn from the mistakes he's making.
..he’s been brave with his team selections and substitutions but even yesterday we were second best and looked like conceding every time they attacked. I think he’s failed to make us solid defensively which isn’t easy given the personnel but it’s why these blokes are on big bucks.
Awful, awful logic. You don't need to be an electrician to tell when the lights aren't working, and you don't need to have a UEFA licence to know when tactics aren't working.
Set up and players were all wrong today. playing a high line again with no pace at the back, no width at all, leaving full backs exposed, no pace in attack either, and no physical presence up front despite us wanting to play hoofball. The subs made us much more threatening and we should have played that way from the start.

I was hugely supportive of Unsworth leading up to this spell. However the results and performances havent been good enough. He has shown too much naivety at times, and just generally proved hes not ready for it yet.

What can you expect from a manager after 4 games in the situation Unsworth found himself in, the type of situation where, at another club, a Pulis or Allardyce would probably be appointed. In my simple opinion it is;
- Stop other sides scoring from set pieces.
- Begin to tighten up the defence and improve the whole sides organisation, looking like a team that can keep a clean sheet.
- Go back to basics with a simple balanced formation which doesn't over complicate things.
- Look a threat from set pieces and look like a team that can nick a goal.
The above have been key traits of managers like Pulis and Alladyce going into a side in a relegation battle who are shot in confidence, shipping in goals and not scoring many themselves.
When I compare Unsworths start to that criteria i'd say;
- Terrible at defending set pieces, yesterday we were hideous and in reality they should have scored 3/4, we lost most headers.
- Although I thought we looked a bit more organised yesterday as a team, the defence was still leaky, and if we continue to defend like that all year we wont be far off going down.
- No balance with the starting formation in any of the games, lack of width yesterday and we didn't look like scoring until the subs where made.
- Again, with the starting lineups we have picked, we don't look like we can nick a goal, only after going 2 down did the correct balance get added to the side which is unsustainable.
The above is why Unsworth isn't ready for the Job. Yesterday he deserved credit for the substitutions and starting Niasse, not much else though. I don't see why it takes the opposition scoring two for the correct width and balance to be added to the side. I thought we got lucky in the aspect and the fans played a major part in the comeback. It is not sustainable to wait until we are almost out the game to bring the likes of lookman on. If we have that approach every week we will be in a relegation battle. I am made up we won and Rhino got a win but he is not the man for the job right now, but you have to be very bitter to not see that was a very lucky win and 4/5 we wouldn't have won that game.
We need to appoint someone today or tomorrow. With the international break I think it is perfect timing. Gives the manager some time to work with the players, and the players to get out the spotlight and come back into a fresh regime before palace.
