Sky Sports News on Baines 'dive'

Be happy with 6th 7th place then lad.
You wouldn't be bothered if he done it 90th min at Anfield to score a pen lad

I was about to say something similar. Would you rather dive(a little bit!) into 4th place, or not dive into 6th? I'm beginning to like Mirallas' attitude more and more. No quarter..he'll try to get whatever he can...thats the kind of attitude that gets trophys.

Please please stop lambasting the best L B in the World , or are you all trying to get shut of him, we should be closing ranks like the R/s do, it doesn't seem to do them any harm, they cheat and dive and get all the plaudits and loads of penalties.

Sorry i must have missed the part were i said every team doesn't do it LOL :3 such fun, :D XD.

On a serious note, i was implying if he hadn't dived it wouldn't be shown. With the recent massive discussion with regards to diving of course sky sports was going to show a dive from a match that was the Monday night football match.

I think you need to stick to watching 'faster' liverpool. Ste.

I will do lad as I do every single week and won't stop because someone tells me to

Just watched it a few times you all must be watching his feet and legs which do not get touched, but Reid makes contact with his left arm which you can see goes backwards which throws him off balance which makes it a foul. I wish people would look at things with their own eyes and not be directed to what to look for, its not just a foul if you touch the legs etc.

Precisely. I can only presume some of the posters here haven't looked again at the footage or they'd have seen the firm contact by Reid's shoulder. My reason for starting this thread was not to debate whether it was or wasn't a foul, but to question why Sky chose to highlight it and stated that there was definitely no contact -- since when have they been so forthright?

PS I note that it has now been removed from the clips they continue to show of the game.

There was contact but it was still a dive, he has done it a few times this season now, one at Goodison last week thst never got given, Barkley has done a few too, the difference is we won't lie about it and make things up or new rules to defend him. We say it's wrong and thats the end of it.

He dived, dreadfull match so they talked about something that happens every weekend.

I am more hacked off with Skysports talking about liverpool again in our pre match build up for 25mins. It,s not the first time that has been done when they show us live, I bet you,d be hard pressed to find a liverpool live match on sky were they talk about everton for 20mins prior to the game.

If the difference between 4th and 6th place is diving, then everyone should get their speedos and goggles ready.

That isn't the difference between the two finishing spots, though. And it's fairly ridiculous to suggest it.

Its not 'fairly ridiculous' at all. 'Earned' free kicks and penalties are an integral part of the game these days, whether we/you like it or not. It is obviously not the only factor determining 4th or 6th, but it is without doubt a contributory factor. Every 'earned' penalty that Suarez gets that effects a result determines the final points tally for two teams...the RS and whoever they are playing. Similarly for Spurs, Everton, whoever. Whole seasons can depend on one decision. Goal allowed against Bolton, for example ? As more money has come into the game, and has become more important, so the 'bending' and use of the rules/laws to advantage has become a fine art. And I don't do 'riduculous', I just do 'my opinion'. Have a nice day.

Baines has been incredibly poor this season...the whole will he go or will he stay has seen a significant dip in his level of play...I have said this in a couple of posts allready, that Martinez should never have dropped Oviedo for Baines when Baines was fit again after the injury...many people on here did not agree, but every week, bar the two free kicks, he has been absolute shyte...sorry Leighton, either sort out your shyte, or get some splinters up your arse...i'm tired of your poor standard of play every week...and now he's diving as well...[names of people and places have been changed to protect innocent people involved]...:dodgy:

Oh ffs I don't know.

He dived. Clearly.

Diving's wrong but if everyone else is at it would it not make you a mug to stay on your feet? You don't get points for honesty. I don't want our players diving but I'd rather have a penalty for a dive at Anfield that wins the game than draw.
