Hello and Happy New Year to you Toffees from a REAL Sky Blue not those imposters down the East Lancs Road.

It got me thinking, as you're embarking on your final few months at that grand old lady of a ground Goodison Park before heading over to that impressive looking new gaff down by the waterside at how long it's been since we last visited Merseyside to meet yous or that other lot over the park.

I CAN believe it's 24 years because most of those have been a nightmare, anyway I digress, this post is not about us poor souls in the Midlands.

As the subject title suggests I have too much time on my hands but the benefits are you can ponder on people and places ones been.

There was a pub your side of the park that I would frequent when I visited Merseyside that stood on a corner, the name of which escapes me.

Looking on Google Earth the area quite obviously has changed in nearly a quarter of a century but the Hot Wok restaurant looks like the pub I'm referring too.

Can anyone enlighten me please and whilst you're at it if anyone knows a long lost friend of mine ( who sadly supported the other lot) by the name of Steve Evans who would be in his late 60s early 70s and worked for BT in the 70/80s, married a girl called Ellie (whose Dad was a police officer in Liverpool) and had a boy called Christopher, I'd be dead pleased to know if he's ok.

Good luck for the rest of the season, you don't want to be down here with the rest of us doughbag sides believe me and enjoy your new home.

Think you're referring to the pub called The Stanley Park but was known locally as The Bluehouse. Had many a pint in there.

How`s Frank settling in mate ?

I`ve been following your results since Frank took the helm and so far it all seems a bit inconsistent - the result at the weekend a case in point !

Most on here had a lot of time for Frank and really wanted him to do well.

He conducted himself very well when he was here.

Nuh huh. Madly young Susan, different places can share names!

Did yow know that there's a Netherton in Merseyside too? Imagine that! Yow goo un tell 'um that un next time yowm in Ma Pardoes, mi wench!
Yeah. Netherton getting a mention. Is right. Thats where I’m from. Usually only read about Netherton if they are filming some bad police drama in the square or someone’s been shot.

Funny enough, last time I was in there i was about 10 and there was a massive scuffle with Coventry lot, still remember the rumble of it kicking off, then an arl Coventry fan and my Dad shielding me when chairs and bottles were flying all over the gaff before police streamed in. Was scared stiff!
