Thing is mate. A skill set can be a multitude of things, seeing massive growth, garnering a very positive public image for your company, branching into untapped sectors who resources and support. All thosecshe has done, and would be very high on a list of attributes we'd look for in a CEO I would guess. And she hadn't exactly got no knowledge about football given that a lot of the work they do involves ex and current pros and people in and around the game at all levels.
Fair reply again, I said the same to moomin you both make points that lead me to no longer believe she would be a terrible choice.

My main point is I dont think she would be the best, and I want us to go out and get the best.

My other point is about transferable skill sets. Someone could be a CEO of a smaller easier company to manage and be absolutely fantastic. But not be able to transfer those skills into a bigger and more difficult company. That is where my worries are mate.

It's depending on the owner though mate, moshiri actually by all accounts is a footy nut, so doubt he will want someone who makes him redundant to all intents.
Do you not think that would make it more likely for him to go for someone more experienced in the role then? As she would require a bit of baby sitting in a sense for a short while?

I just dont believe she is the right person to transition the club personally!

But the most important question is if she likes pineapple on a pizza or not. Deal breaker for me

She's possibly shadowing Elstone currently. If it's going to be an internal appointment this is a guarantee.

It would also be good to have a woman in such a high-profile position.
I'm sure BK's luvie 'socialist' friends in the theatre community would nod their approval over a glass of champagne but apart from scoring PC points I'm unclear why the gender of the candidate should have any bearing whatsoever in making such an important appointment at a pivotal time for the club's future.

I think by only quoting that one line from Mr Eggs, you've done him an injustice. He clearly states that she's a decent candidate for other reasons, in his opinion.

I couldn't disagree more with having her as a CEO. She has absolutely no credentials to do it.

I wouldnt actually have her on the board either, she has no footballing or top end business experience. Granted does a fantastic job for eitc and is a very good speaker. But doing that does not equate to being a good ceo. Elstone also did a good job at a small rugby club but has failed to do anything of note here.

I'm certain she would be exaclty the same if not worse in that position.

We need a new ceo. But we need one who is used to dealing with top level football businesses not someone who has only (again done a good job) worked in a charity setting whilst doing anything of note.
£150 million a year turn over doesn't interest TOP CEO's...

Thats fair, but the way I see it I look at the likes of Chelsea, arsenal, Tottenham, united and city, would any of those make a similar appointment? I dont think they would, and we should be aiming for that level of appointment.

Whilst I wouldnt want her on the board (to be fair I dont want most of this board on the new board) and I certainly dont want her as a ceo, I'd love for her to take up a new role as "head of Everton community development" and have her focus on that and every project to do with that.

But I guess we will see, always open to being proven wrong

Denise Barrett Baxendale MBE has all the credentials to be a top quality CEO at any football club in the country, and abroad. I am certain that many on here are not aware of the high regard for this lady in the places were it matters. Everton are really quite lucky to have her on board. My wife was involved in 'Women In The Workplace' on the academic side, for many years, and believe me, Denise BB will go right to the very top in whatever field of operations she chooses. Her reputation alone increases the credibility of our board. Anyone in doubt, just wait and see.

I know DBB personally having had close professional dealings with her before she came to EITC. I have nothing but good to say about her and would always come out in defence of her (not that I've ever had to on this forum). But it's not that long since we were talking about bringing somebody on board of the calibre of David Dein. He's the sort of person we should be looking for as CEO.

I doubt whether David Dein, despite his close friendship with BK and, presumably Mosh, would want, or need at this stage a job as a CEO.

I took a day off to see top quality viewing

On Sky Sports?? :o :o

You may well be right, it's more than possible it was Reddit. It was to do with transfers somewhere and there were a few disparaging remarks about EitC, just saying that they wished we'd leave it alone and it wasn't "Everton". Don't mean any offence to this place though. Just those saying it. Apologies.

Probably regarding the Baxter deal I would imagine..
