Sadly Mino is just mugging us all off.

99.999999% done to Utd he means.
What makes you think United mate? I'd say Mourinho will never re-hire a player he let go. Not with his planet sized ego.

If Costa gets off maybe Conte will take a chance on Lukaku. Team him up with Hazard at club level.

I do have a feeling Bayern might be looking to get an unhappy Lewandowski off their hands and might get Lukaku in.

Is it me or did anyone else notice that USM wasn't mentioned on even on a sign unless I missed it, also where was kenwright

Fully agree mate. I can't see any reason why we couldn't combine the two but, as you say, nobody else seems to have been able to in the past.

My posts were more about how we are going to be perceived by other clubs fans. On one level, it's quite nice to read other supporters say nice things about us and we have lots of regular posters on this forum from other clubs who are, on the whole, made very welcome. In a way I'm quite proud that we are, on the whole, quite well respected by our peers. However, I'm also conscious that this is partly because we are not perceived as a threat by them. That will change. The top 6 will treat us as proper rivals, and the rest will look upon us with envy. It's just the natural way of things.

What we do in the community will wrongly be viewed in a different light (not by any of us I might add), as would the fantastic gesture the club made with young Bradley which would probably be construed as a publicity stunt by money bags Everton, rather than the plaudits we quite rightly received.

Or do you think I'm just being a cynic?

Too cynical.

He said his agent deals with all those things. He just concentrates on playing football.

He didn't say that his agent was talking through his arse when he said he was 99.999% certain to sign a new contract.

My take on that is. Agent says he's signing a new contract and Rom saying his agent deals with all those matters equals Rom signing a new contract.

However I suspect your take on it will be a bit different Dave:)

Not cynical enough... :p

So do I mate. We know what we do as a club and I, like you, am extremely proud of it. And the Bradley gesture was fantastic and totally unexpected in terms of the amount. I remember reading a forum in a national paper about it and without exception, it was received in the right way. Maybe I am being cynical, but I put that down to us being widely perceived as a traditional family club and the public recognising it for what it was. Had City, United, Chelsea or even Liverpool made that gesture, I think there would have been a different reaction from elements of rival fans, most probably unfairly.

I really hope we don't change that side of our affairs, and I don't think we will. But I do think outside perception of us will change and that is something that we will have to come to terms with. It's probably not a big issue for some fans who probably don't give a damn what anybody else thinks of us. In fact some would probably prefer it if we were hated if it meant we were successful.

Personally I think if we keep up the EitC/Bradley type stuff, and continue to conduct ourselves well off the pitch and don't try low balling people with transfer offers all the time then there's no reason why other fans opinions of us would change. I'm sure there's plenty of clubs that are jealous of our position already, but I don't think there's any resentment, so I don't see why any should manifest itself in the near future.
