Sir Landon Of Donovan

Am I the only one not utterly heartbroken at this? Love Landy like most of us.. But still.

Bruce Arena, Don Garber, the MLS can, as my mates would say, DO ONE!!

I wont watch the MLS this year.. Greedy, corrupt bastards!!

As for Donovan, whatever.. He will look back in ten years at his mediocre career and wonder what could've been.

Want's to be the face of U.S. Soccer, yet prefers to play in a league well below his standard.. ******* joke!!

Fuming*

Anger is part of the grieving process. Let it all flow...

Yea mate, I guess I'm being to hard.. . I'm just damn tired from work and this is the last thing I wanted to hear today..

If the truth is money ( which I'm sure it is ) that would bring little comfort, yet not much.. The MLS and Don Garber act like an organized crime family, it's stupid..

Our club not having money is another sore subject.. Maybe we don't want to spend money on a 28 year old? Fair play.
But we need some depth in our roster, quality depth..

I'm surprised he signed his last contract.
He hinted in an interview that that was the only way the Galaxy were going to let him go out on loan, was to sign another contract. Otherwise, he had to wait 2 more years - the end of 2011 - when his contract, including option years (which the Galaxy were going to exercise) were finished.

He didn't want to wait, so he signed. Plus, in all fairness, he does like L.A.

Its dissapointing but it was always 50/50.

The Galaxy might have been asking for silly amounts of money for what would only be a ten game loan , Lets be honest is say an Australian side wanted Cahill on loan from June to August we wouldnt be pushing it to happen would we.

Gutted.. absolutely gutted. Like everyone else , I think we pinned our hopes on him reigniting our season after our fairly dismal start. His tweets during and after the Manchester City seemed to give everyone a huge lift that he'd made his decision and it was his way of letting us know he was coming back..

I hate Christmas and this was going to be the only thing I had to look forward to knowing that we'd be with out the likes of Cahill for a month and along with some of the clownish behaviour by some of our players of late, discipline wise, things were starting to look a bit bleak - I was really looking forward to us putting the R.S to the sword with Landon in our ranks again!!

This has me heart broken. Might as well close this thread right now Mr Mod. :(

LD is, imo, conservative by nature. He had an EPL itch and he scratched it. The whole world now knows that he is world class. He experienced footy in the most prestigious cathedrals in the world. Been there, done that. No need to come over, experience a run of bad form, and have the world view early 2010 as a fluke.

But when all is said and done, So Cal is his home and where he wants to be.

He also fancies himself as the principal character in the emergence of the USA as a world football power, and is probably susceptable to the line of [Poor language removed] he receives from MLS about how he needs to be the one who starts MLS' rise to elite status on the world stage. If there is even a remote chance that MLS can become a Western hemi version of EPL, La Liga, et al, players like him need to say - this is what he is being told I am sure.

Now keep in mind I do not believe any of the above crap to be correct. Just that this very well may be what LD thinks and is most certainly what he is being told.

All this being said, LD's quote made specific mention to a loan - as if the door may still be open to a transfer. His statement about staying with the Galaxy will not be contradicted by a transfer if it were to occur. The transfer can easily be viewed/spun as being the decision of the club for the betterment of the club (Galaxy), meaning LD was committed to the Galaxy, as he should be, up to the point that the Galaxy/MLS decided to transfer him.

The loan door is shut and sealed. The transfer door may be a tiny bit ajar.
