Sir Landon Of Donovan

This is Galaxy's doing this.

Stopping him from coming due to money demands.

I'll be waiting for LCAB to confirm it.

Because for certain $400k a game is a complete joke.

They've deliberately tried to price us out.

Good luck to him, he was good for us and leaves us and him with good memories so we move on.

Coleman makes it not the biggest loss in the world but I would have liked to see him come, I like him.

This.
Hopes we get some good loans now. Without loans, and if we lose pienaar, I don't like the looks of january - no pienaar, no donovan, no cahill... ugh.

“While I enjoyed my time at Everton last season and still appreciate all the support their fans have given me, I feel that it is important to continue to rest and recover this offseason as opposed to going on loan,” Donovan said. “I never considered being loaned to a club other than Everton, but I have been playing nearly non-stop for the past two years and I believe that this decision will allow me to perform at my best for the Galaxy and the National Team throughout the upcoming year. I look forward to re-joining my Galaxy teammates for the start of preseason training next month and beginning our quest for another MLS Cup championship.”

Sounds pretty conclusive to me, but I guess the oracle may know something the rest of us don't.

The statement from Bruce kinda takes responsibility. "We've decided in the best interest of the team and the player..." it DOES sound like a front office decision made FOR him. If that's the case, then Becks can forget going anywhere as well, as he has recently hinted at wanting a loan.

ok but light training/training is completely different than life in the Prem, is it not?

Two weeks rest is fine. The body has a very high recovery rate and actually begins to atrophy in a few days of not exercising.

Saying he needs 3/4 months off is well OTT.

A couple of weeks rest and the reserves are recharged.

Oh, most definitely. But it's not like he's going to be spending all his time lying on a beach for 3 or 4 months. At least I don't think so. .... but then again...

It's political statements.

Galaxy are saying they want $$$$. (very unrealistic $$$$ too)

Its not about the player. Its about money.

Bruce Arena, Don Garber, the MLS can, as my mates would say, DO ONE!!

I wont watch the MLS this year.. Greedy, corrupt bastards!!

As for Donovan, whatever.. He will look back in ten years at his mediocre career and wonder what could've been.

Want's to be the face of U.S. Soccer, yet prefers to play in a league well below his standard.. ******* joke!!

Fuming*

The lad is tired, it's christmas, he has played a lot of footy. Can't hate him for wanting to take it easy? He owes us nothing, just cos he played for us doesn't mean he is co-joined at our hip. As Mos def says..

"The hard headed always gotta feel it to believe it".
