Sir Landon Of Donovan

Cash,

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Everything that has happened in the past year tells me that he'd jump at the chance to play for Everton again. He was successful here as you said. That's all the reason to come back vs. taking a chance in Italy or Spain and potentially have a Leverkusen situation all over again.

Why risk that at this point in his career? Personally, I think he'd do just as well in those two countries as well but he knows from a commercial standpoint, that Everton is his best bet. From a playing time standpoint, Everton is his best bet. From a settling in standpoint, Everton is his best bet.

He has a national teammate here (as well as Holden up the road at Bolton), he got on great with the manager, and most importantly, he hit it off with the supporters here and understood EXACTLY what it meant to be an Evertonian. That has just as much pull as playing football in MLS or anywhere else to be honest.

I'd say he'd bite his own right hand off to come back to Everton on a permanent deal.

A permanent voice of reason in TxB. Donovan realized last January he'd been chosen. Now he needs to come home.

Donovan was the reason I started following everton and the epl in general. Even if he doesn't come back, I'll never forget that. I haven't missed a game since last year's derby that he played in. That game also solidified my hate for kuyt. I really hope he decides to come back, though. I'll even forgive his point blank miss.

On October 1st I turned over my Everton calendar to reveal Jo (stupid Everton).
Anyway i spent most of October 1st morning at work pasting a picture of Landon over Jo's pathetic picutre! Much happier now.

That's how sure i am he's coming.

Me , too , kid .

I was there . BOTH games .

I don't know about the whole thing with his wife. No wedding ring since forever, but do you follow him on Twitter? So much twirting going on between those two, it's no wonder people still think they are together or trying to reconcile. But maybe someone in this forum is "in the know" moreso than the rest of us?

Hi there! He's said in multiple interviews that he is "single." Even though they chat/flirt, every time he's been asked of late in the American press he has said he's available. Still no divorce fillings though - probably won't happen until he's out of the public eye a bit. I'm guessing during the Nov/Dec off season. And the fact that the American press even remotely cares shows how far he's come. :P

EDIT: Played well tonight. Galaxy are #1 in the league to finish out the season, and LD's got 16 assists, with 1 coming tonight - feeding (of course) David Beckham.

I heard he blatantly pushed someone over in the build up to the goal though :P

Jags and Cahill were asked about Landon on Goals on Sunday and said how great he was, etc., and that "they are pretty sure the gaffer will be trying to get him back again in January"

He's great and adds a new dimension but so does Anichebe and seeing as he's actually our player im more looking forward to him coming back

He shoved an FC Dallas striker to the ground with both hands. It was a blatant foul and wasn't called and it led to their equalizing goal. I don't know quite how to feel about it, honestly. I'm a Galaxy fan so I'm happy that we scored and won, but I just can't feel good about the very obvious pro-LA officiating. MLS refs suck, man. They'll never be called up to officiate big international tournaments pulling stunts like that.

Oh, he blatantly pushed all right - but the ref hadn't called any fouls up to that point. Donovan had just been blatantly pushed on a counter attack and no call was made. It made LD mad, so he kicked it into gear. The ref at least was consistent: he didn't make any calls on clear fouls for either team.
