Sir Landon Of Donovan

He shoved an FC Dallas striker to the ground with both hands. It was a blatant foul and wasn't called and it led to their equalizing goal. I don't know quite how to feel about it, honestly. I'm a Galaxy fan so I'm happy that we scored and won, but I just can't feel good about the very obvious pro-LA officiating. MLS refs suck, man. They'll never be called up to officiate big international tournaments pulling stunts like that.

I'd suggest you re-watch that game. There were fouls going both ways that went uncalled. What about the blatant take-down of LD just 3 minutes earlier? I thought, well, if he's going to let it go that way, then that's what they get - the Galaxy can fight back too. There were many fouls that went uncalled - he called it consistently - with not calling anything a foul.

I'm not the one who needs to rewatch the match--that's you.

Yanno, and I'm not sure if this has been addressed before, but is Landon aware of thi thread or even the forum. I know he trawls his Facebook account now and then - but that's akin to a Nickelodeon love-in for tweens, who just fawn and fall over each worshipping his latest hair cut. On here, he can at least gauge the full gamut of opinions about him. If I was a professional footballer, no matter how painful it may be at times or even on occasions slightly narcissistic, I'd love to read what the fans 'really' thought of me every now and then :) If Landon, read on here what we've been saying about him of late, his plane would be landing at John Lennon round-about...NOW!

I'm an official member of the "EFC loves Landon Donovan Club".

Just so he knows if he's reading this.

Maybe we both should. He consistently non-called fouls all game long.

Sorry, don't mean to cause a fight though. The reffing is bad, that's true. But all teams play and compete with the same handicap. It all evens out over the season. I think of the blatant off-side goal that RSL scored vs. the Galaxy earlier in the season in which MLS came out and admitted it was a bad, bad call. Without that call, we would have already won supporter's shield before this game.

On October 1st I turned over my Everton calendar to reveal Jo (stupid Everton).

I just had a sneak-peak at November's Iconic Image and it's none other than the Guillotine himself.. the French Excellence of Execution..Louis Saha !!

No doubt sadly, his image will last longer than he does through out November :( Ho Hum.

I sent him the link to the thread via twitter about a week ago... Didn't get a response..

Then he's probably lurked. I'm convinced that most (if not all) of the guys have been to the bigger forums (i.e., BigSoccer) and either post or browse regularly.

It would be best if our Nats DIDN'T lurk on Big Soccer. Waaaaay too many people posting on there that haven't a clue about football and the worst part is that they think that they do.

Some good posters on there to be sure but quite a few who aren't.

I'd rather Landon read what Everton supporters think about him anyway.

First Fulham, now Newcastle. Try to hold back your laughter:

Magpies manager Chris Hughton has identified Donovan as an ideal replacement for Hatem Ben Arfa, who is not due to return to action until March after suffering a double leg break against Manchester City earlier this month.

Donovan, 28, is also desired for his versatility as he can play as a striker or in midfield and Hughton is desperate to strengthen his attacking options in January to provide support for Andy Carroll.

I got a chuckle out of this one. Carroll and Donovan together? Not on this planet.
