Sir Landon Of Donovan

Thanks LCAB. You have just made my day. My brother-in-law had a co-worker to approach Donovan at a promotion for EA Sports FIFA 2011 a few weeks back to sign a picture for my son. When asked if he wanted to come back to Merseyside and wear the Toffee Blue again, he just smiled and signed the picture. This fella said he was wicked nice, was asking how old my boy was, where we are from and all that bit. Just got the picture yesterday. It is Ace. Gonna frame it when we get to Germany in a few weeks. Appreciated all the info on the transfer madness the other day. Hope your are feeling well. Take care.

Is anyone else concerned that he'll have played for about 3 years non stop?

He had 4 weeks off before he came and played for us last January (first week of December = End of the MLS season including cup final appearance).

And he'll have another 4 weeks off before he comes and plays for us in January.

Thats the same that our players got this summer (excluding those that played in the world cup! who had extra time off in July / August)

So why panic?

Just when I thought this thread would die until December, this happens:
http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1110...van-eager-to-rest-during-mls-offseason-rather

Asked about the possibility of another jaunt to Europe come the winter, Donovan claimed he needs the extra rest in this World Cup year.

"If you ask me today I'm going to say, 'Unequivocally no,'" the American international told reporters after a Los Angeles Galaxy training session Thursday. "I'm tired and my body needs a break. But once I'm off for a few weeks it might be a different answer."

This doesn't sound like Xmas? Well, except for the last sentence hedge. (LCAB - this news to you? Or is this just goal.com making a mountain of a molehill?)

He will have 6-8 weeks off after the MLS season which is probably more than most players have had off over the last few years. Stop being such a baby Landon :D
