Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Actually, the vast majority of media and other fans think it's far better the way we're doing it.

When it was mooted that moyes would have to resign immediately in order to take over at Utd, most thought it very odd and a great shame that he wouldn't get to finish out the season (and particularly manage us at Goodison again) after 11 years of commitment and - whatever the anti moyes brigade might think - excellent work.

Personally I'm delighted he'll remain in charge until the end of the season - and especially for tomorrow. I don't believe it "lessens" the club at all, and actually think it gives us a better chance of winning those games - the players will want to send their boss out on a high IMHO.

That's how I see it.

But apparently that means you don't care about Everton as Moyes has made us like a set of [Poor language removed]

The argument of whether he should or shouldn't is all too circular now. People have had their say & regardless of what we think or want, the club will carry on with their plans. Kenwright won't ask him to stand down and, for some reason, Moyes doesn't seem to see a problem.

July the second will be a new day & a new start for our club. We all have in common a love for Everton. This will last longer than Kenwright, and longer than Moyes so we move on, keep calm and don't panic!

I've had my say & I'm done on this matter. My opinion is as valid as the next person's, regardless of whether it's the same of different. We have a good forum to express ourselves, and hear opinions from all over the place. I too live on the opposite side of the planet and, for the record, I have watched our lads play at Goodison probably before a lot of you were born.

Anyway, lets all look forward to our future & not dwell too long on their new manager.

COYB! :)

Yup. Can't disagree with that.

And I'm out of this thread

There are lots of different opinions on here, and each to their own I say. But for me, I just can't understand why he is in the dugout tomorrow. Yes, I know he is still under contract til the end of May (or whatever) but it seems to me that our Board feel (or want) to give him a big emotional send of from our fans. I will give him a clap (and deservedly so) when he returns with United next season, but thats as far as it goes. Seeing him yesterday in an Everton training top to me felt wrong. He is to all intents and purposes the manager of a different club now. I just don't get it. He's done a great job for us in difficult circumstances. Thank you.
But remember we were also good for him, and he was extremely well paid and very fortunate to manage us! The media and public perception seems to be that Moyes is Everton! No he isn't! He's just passing through, and now he's gone for me. I think he 'played' us over the last year of his contract. He could've signed it and Man Utd would still have come in for him anyway. Getting compensation would've helped us secure our new manager. Bad business. Our Board is weak and Moyes himself could've stood down. Just don't get this circus as most managers just say their goodbyes to players and staff behind closed doors in these circumstances. Ridiculous set of events this!!

had Moyes signed in January , one of the richest clubs in the world would not have received Everton's manager as a freeby -
they would have had to buy him from us for money we could have used to buy us a new guy -
but no - Mr Moyes decided to run down his contract and then dump Everton at the death -
who is the big looser in this little game ? Everton all the way !
who are the winners by a mile ? United and Moyes
so please Mr Moyes do not prolong the agony any longer - do the honourable thing and step down so that Everton can pick itself up and face the football world on its own feet with dignity and pride instead of being paraded as the feeder club and doormat of Man United

Kudos to you, sir.

Thank goodness there are still many of us whom retain a pride in our club.

True thank fk there is. Take it you mean everyone on the forum and at the ground and those that get behind the team... Finally something we agree on.

No, I mean those of us whom support Everton and not our erstwhile manager.

We have a place on the bus for you once your catharsis is complete :)

Everything you are summed up in one post. I hope for your sake you popped over from RAWK

That's a bit dramatic. Aside from the refusal to read what I posted in the correct context, you have chosen to respond on the back of it. Kenwright's legacy is a divided fanbase, has been since the concept of DK was first raised. The appreciation can and should be shown, it's the way we do things, with dignity and class by tradition, but the club comes first, I'll repeat it again, he can sit in the director's box next to best bud Bill and take 90 minutes of applause if that's what counts, jeez, I'll be happy for him to stay in the title of Everton manager, but for impressions, perception and club standing, he should be relieved of game responsibilities and that given to Round or Sheedy or whoever. He shouldn't be in the dugout, especially after his post on the MUFC website. As for a monopoly of pain, well, I stopped feeling the agony of an Evertonian more and more as I got older, and hopefully wiser. Things take a greater precedence in life and coupled with Bill's tenure, and ironically, lack of support to a very good manager, made me care less and less. However, having been following the club since 63, my family go all the way back to St Domingo FC, I'm actually from St Domingo rd, doesn't fossilise me and separate me from the 'real world' as you put it, that would mean we are victims of circumstances we cannot control, but, and you should know this being the expert you profess, recent history has shown that the majority of constraints upon Everton FC maintaining it's standing in football have been avoidable, avoidable by means of good practice and professionalism, and in these circumstances we are continuing to allow others to dictate our standing. Do you not thin enough is enough? Do you think by allowing just one more event it won't matter? Do you not think it doesn't add to the catalogue of mishaps that have been allowed to affect the reputation of this club? Don't you ever in the name of all that is f*cking holy tell me to show some respect for my club, all our club, and I will state this quite categorically without question, that your attitude is what I am actually trying to protect this club from. Lie down, let the heritage of this club seep out bit by bit, but don't for one moment think that people 'like me', as you put it, will not fight to stop the 'likes of you'. Best if we leave it at that.

Well said Magicjuan. Some just don't get why respect must ge first and foremost for the club and the varying parts of it follow from that. Scares me to be honest.

word for word ,top post

Too right. Best post I've read for weeks.

Just couldn't agree more with all of that

Why are people acting like Moyes is a player? He's a manager and if he didn't want to sign a new contract so be it. Managers shouldn't be in our financial plan in terms of us thinking were gonna earn money from him leaving.

Also I thnk some fans to gain a bit of perspective here. We are not Uniteds rivals. Stop acting like we are because its pathetic. Those days are long gone and we shouldn't act like were oblivious to what has happened to the club in the last 25 years or So. What w need to do is put plans in place so that one day we can get to a level where we are their rivals. It was clear that moyes wasn't gonna do that how about we get someone who can?

Now bill is running a ship on empty but that shouldn't stop us from moving forward. We need fresh idea and our foundation has been built by moyes. Its time to build this team to where it was.

What I refuse to do is act small time and not allow Moyes coach his last two games. Let him have his moment in the sun at goodison as he's done well in his time here. Its not like he failed or anything.

He signed a contract which is not yet over and he's just going to finish it. The hard work will be done in the off season. After 11 years of service the least he deserves is to leave peacefully when his contract is done.

As ive said I'd happily welcome him back with united and I wouldn't mind clapping him in the directors box but it just feels a little cheap for me .

I'd genuinely like to know if it's a generational thing as some of the posters who would prefer someone else in charge seem like me to not be in the first flush of youth.

It just feels like taking a girlfriend to a wedding because she's fit even though she's give you the boot , I totally understand some people are looking forward to it and don't see a problem but to me feels almost to be lacking self-respect and feed the 'plucky old everton' media mindset.

That's the best analogy we have had thus far.

Actually, no I'm not. As for being low, it was your attitude towards my opinion that created that situation. I defended my position, no more or less. You have no moral high ground here, neither do I, but I do believe by not opposing the actions you give them legitimacy, you are the wind beneath Kenwright's wings...keep your blows a bit higher, I'll do likewise.

Complete contradicton. You claim that you are not then go on to make the same accusation.

Stop blaming other supporters who don't subscribe to your view for the regime in charge of the club. The divisions are bad enough as they are without you driving as wedge between people who actually want rid of the regime. It's no wonder Bill's fan club won't listen.

Can you all imagine the following scenario. Moyes wins 4 CLs and 5 prem titles in the next 6 years. Real Madrid offer him a succulent contract before the end of the season and he publicly agrees to go after delaying a new contract all season. Imagine the outcry not only from Utd but from the British press.
