Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Exactly.

I'm planning to take my eldest to the West Ham match.

Little Dell - "Daddy - why is our manager waving"
Me - "Because he's off to Man Utd"
Little Dell - "why Daddy?"
Me - ???

There's nothing positive to say is there?

No there isn't. Your reply should be:

"Because Little Dell, there's a very stupid, arrogant, greedy, white haired old man sitting in the directors box, wiping a fake tear away from his eye now, who values being the boss of the train set more than he actually loves the club. And possibly may be indebted to unknown individuals over who knows what, making any sale of the club impossible".

You're wasting your time arguing with these internet begrudgers mate.

Moyes will get the respectful send off he deserves, there is no doubt about that. The vast majority of our supporters will see to it.

Then after the Chelsea game we can move on and look forward to / dread the future.

Hes getting the respect in general! He has had the respect for 11 years. And its much deserved. (This seems to be ignored)

We need to move on tomorrow.

I am going this Sunday and hope if Moyes has signed for United he isn't in the dugout.
I watched us conquer all in the mid eighties and as much as times have changed that is only down to the incomeptant idiots in the boardroom. Everton for me, will always be the grandest club in the league. If he would sooner go to Man U then so be it. But he shouldn't then take charge again. Makes us look small time (which bullsh*t bill has made us).

I look forward to dishing out 90 minutes of abuse aimed at our wonderful chairman.

This.

I keep thinking they've used up all the ways to cheapen us - selling Rooney, losing stars every few years like Lescott and Arteta to pay the banks, failing twice with stadium moves and once with ground redevelopment, turning fans against each other, changing the club crest and removing the club motto and wreaths and hoping no-one notices, but no... they always find new ways to make us look small time.

We might as well have a bloody flag day on Sunday. Let's all wave off David Moyes, as he leaves to go and win stuff, at a club that won't pull the rug out from underneath him every few years as he tries to build a side.

You really don't understand football do you?

Yes Moyes did a good job for us. And was paid brilliantly for his time.

Now move on. We can show respect next season.

Of course I didn't expect Moyes to stay for ever. Of course United is a good job. But when have you ever heard of a manager (or player for that matter) staying on and getting an ovation AFTER agreeing to join a rival?

Yes it could work if he was off to Italy or Germany and wanted to "try a new country/change of scenery" likewise if he was off to manage Scotland or to manage his boyhood heroes Celtic. But not a bloody rival.

I get football, that's where you drive your digger around a field planting corn isn't it? Even with my knowledge of this footthingy quite lacking, I still don't see why you would give someone a leaving do when they return and not when they leave.
He's always said he'll leave when the fans turn on him, he's also said for a long time he'll leave in the summer.. Until then he's Everton's manager and why the fk would you just want him to finish after 11 years then head straight to the tunnel. Much better to show appreciation for what he's done. As it happens I understand football a lot better than you understand class and dignity from what I can tell. Class and dignity isn't turning your back on 11 years just because someone gets a better job.
Celebrating what he's done the following season is just weird when he's stood in front of you this season after more than a decade of improving the club.

Bang on.

That is EXACTLY what I keep telling my Cousin who's 18th birthday party it is and he has chosen tickets for Sunday. He thinks Kenwright is great unfortunately. He has never seen us achieve anything in his life. 18 YEARS OLD and never seen us win a thing. How utterly heartbreaking :(

The Mail reckons united will be bringing Ronaldo back too... I think David's eleven year barren run might just be coming to an end

Leave off with the Kenwright crap for now eh? I'll happily judge him on my own accord if he screws up the next few weeks.

We always welcome back ex players and staff. I dont see how this can be any different.

Nobodies turning their back on him! Hes moving on to better things in his (and most others) eyes.

He will only be Everton manager in name after tomorrow.

There is no dignity and clinging on though. Our dignity and pride means we must move on asap. Our class and dignity comes when he returns and we give him a clap. Like we have done for almost every player and staff member who returns.

I can understand where you are coming from, nobody likes this situation but I do think pride is very important here.

The main priority for Everton is winning games, nothing else should take precedence over that. Personally I believe that we stand more of a chance of winning the next two games with a manager who is solely concentrated on the job with no distractions or side issues....now tell me that David Moyes is that person?

Lol, so you're going to judge him on the next few weeks and not the last 11 years?

You couldn't make it up.

I won't 'lay off the Kenwright crap' because Bill Kenwright is the bloody reason Moyes is ultimately going in the first place.

No mate you really don't get it.

Ex-players and managers are given a respectful show of appreciation most Saturdays up and down the country. We give him a round of applause before the kick off and then its game on. Are you not aware of this tradition?

Can you give an example of any manager/player that agrees to join a rival but then carries on for a few games (that matter) and get a big cheery send-off? I can't think of many.....

Moyes should defiantly coach out the last two games, he's done so much for our club and shouldn't be pushed out the door just because he's taking on another challenge, he hasn't done us wrong or screwed us over i'd be very disappointed if he didn't.

No I'm saying this particular issue is down to Moyes and not let it be side-tracked with the Kenwright saga.

But these next few weeks for Kenwright are very important. Presenting Everton in the right way and choosing the right man are ttasks within his control. Its one of the few big challenges that are down to him alone.
