Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

You are wrong there. Because we would be the wife. Sure we can still get it on twice more but it will be weird and seedy and he will be thinking about another woman the whole time.

Whilst looking around the house for anything he might be able to take with him

Haha spot on.

I really dont get some peoples opinions on this whole thing. I love Moyes dont get me wrong but for gods sake we are Everton. Lets grow some balls and keep our chins up. Time for a new hero.

Imagine we're losing to West Ham and he brings on Naismith,
Scenes

Aye and there would be nothing to stop Naismith thinking "sod this, im going to play up top where im supposed to be playing, not on the wing, whats he going to do? Drop me?"

Its a disaster waiting to happen.

Because it smacks of small time.

If my wife and I agree an amicable split after 11 years I'll always care for her and will wish her health and happiness in the future.

But I'll be f*cked if I'll welcome her new fella into my house!

It's a little thing called dignity.

Yeah, err who's getting married?
What about if your wife was in fact the manager of a football club that you loved and not your wife at all, a manager that transformed said club back into a great club after it had become massively s**t, and stayed with us despite having no chance of genuinely competing for any quality players for 11 years? Is that worth showing your appreciation for?
What about despite the above getting us to a final, into Europe, breaking the top 4 (1 of only a couple and the first to do it when it was done).
What about finding quality players for naff all money.
None of these things are worth some applause before he leaves..
I'll applaud what he's done for us, because its not small time.. its appreciation for what he's done.
It's appreciation for bringing back this dignity you are so keen to preserve, but for some reason feeling like somehow acknowledging Moyes efforts will diminish it.
That's worth my applause whilst he's still manager. The only thing small time is peoples sad obssessions with how other fans view what we do.
Moyes has earnt my respect and a decent round of applause, would you prefer he stayed till he died? He had to leave some time.. 11 years is surely a justified amount? United surely a justified reason? And the above sure justifies showing our appreciation before he goes?

Nah thats rubbish mate. Do it when he comes back. It will be well deserved. Doing it whilst he is still in charge of us but preparing to move on is absolute madness.

No I don't want to welcome him back, then he's the enemy. I would like to applaud him for the work he's done for us before he leaves, just as most other fans in the stadium will because they are not so small minded that they can't acknowledge what he's done whilst he's here.
Assuming he's leaving, since he's done great things, a thank you David Moyes is in order.

What really bothers me is that Moyes probably knew he was leaving a long time ago, and yet he still picked a full back five on the bench for the derby. What an evil man.

Exactly.

I'm planning to take my eldest to the West Ham match.

Little Dell - "Daddy - why is our manager waving"
Me - "Because he's off to Man Utd"
Little Dell - "why Daddy?"
Me - ???

There's nothing positive to say is there?

I think there's too much sentiment for a lot of people because Moyes became like 'one of the family'. The thing is, the only real family are the supporters, they don't move on and wouldn't dream of selling the family jewels. Unfortunately, ex-partners do. Things then get nasty and all the good times are forgotten.
I suggest a quick, amiable divorce with no ties...thanks for the memories and all that...then go find a partner who can beat the RS

You're wasting your time arguing with these internet begrudgers mate.

Moyes will get the respectful send off he deserves, there is no doubt about that. The vast majority of our supporters will see to it.

Then after the Chelsea game we can move on and look forward to / dread the future.

As soon as he agrees to join them he is leaving though.

Its got nothing to do with being small minded. Bigger picture. Everton matter, not Moyes right now. Hes done a good job, we know it, he knows it, we will always respect him. A silly public display of it is not needed. We have football games to win, turning the West ham game into some kind of phony testimonial is madness.

By the way, What happens if we dont win? Carroll and Nolan netting in a 0-2 loss for example? Is it still party time?

I am going this Sunday and hope if Moyes has signed for United he isn't in the dugout.
I watched us conquer all in the mid eighties and as much as times have changed that is only down to the incomeptant idiots in the boardroom. Everton for me, will always be the grandest club in the league. If he would sooner go to Man U then so be it. But he shouldn't then take charge again. Makes us look small time (which bullsh*t bill has made us).

I look forward to dishing out 90 minutes of abuse aimed at our wonderful chairman.

We're going to absolutely batter them 1-0 in true Moyes style.

You really don't understand football do you?

Yes Moyes did a good job for us. And was paid brilliantly for his time.

Now move on. We can show respect next season.

Of course I didn't expect Moyes to stay for ever. Of course United is a good job. But when have you ever heard of a manager (or player for that matter) staying on and getting an ovation AFTER agreeing to join a rival?

Yes it could work if he was off to Italy or Germany and wanted to "try a new country/change of scenery" likewise if he was off to manage Scotland or to manage his boyhood heroes Celtic. But not a bloody rival.
