I just don't think he fits into our system, he doesn't have the pace or stamina to go forward but still consistently be in the right positions defensively. By all accounts JonJoe Kenny is supposed to be very good, only 17 but in a couple of seasons he could be ready to step up into the first team as back up for Seamus. So seems a bit pointless getting someone in to replace Hibbert

Stones can do a job there also.

I love Hibbert. He might not be the best we've got, and would probably agree, but he always tried.

He's deffo the squad's best angler........

I think Martinez should not be afraid to say if Hibbert is not performing. Put someone else in.

Its nice to be sentimental.

However we are chasing Champions League. This means hard choices if necessary.

For the good of the squad.

I've always liked him as well, I think if we were still under Moyes where one full back would sit if the other went forward then he'd be fine. He just doesn't have the legs to get back in our system under Martinez because both full backs are pushing right up every time we have the ball. But like you said we have Stones, Browning even Oviedo who could all play there if need be. I think Hibbert will be fine against the [Poor language removed] Europa league teams anyway. Just a shame Garbutt isnt a right back was really impressed with him but he's in probably the only position on the pitch we're completely sorted with Baines and Oviedo

I doubt he'll ever play for us in the PL again. He's the cheaper option as to buying a RB for games in Europe or League Cup. He's a decent back up but should be nowhere near the first team for important games.

I think the decision on Hibbo is his to make and I am sure 99% of Evertonians agree. In my time here on GOT (18 months?), from what I have read in that time, no current Everton player enjoys greater cult status than Tony Hibbert. Does he belong up there with historical Everton greats like Dixie, the holy Trinity, Alan Ball? I do not know, I haven't watch him play. But I trust the opinions of my learned GOT colleagues who, almost to a man/woman, revere him...so I guess he does.
On those grounds alone, I would have Hibbo playing whenever Coleman was unavailable (since, at the risk of incurring the wrath of all the 'when he scores we riot' Hibbo acolytes, I genuinely believe Coleman to be a better all round player).
His contract is up in what?, 2 years. Until HE chooses to retire, I back the sentiment of my fellow Evertonians: Hibbo plays when he wants to.

So where have all the TH fans disappeared to after today.
Said it yesterday, and will say it again today.
Stole a living from our football club for 14 years.
But who cares he is Blue through and through.
It shows how far our football club has sunk, when fans think this waster is any good

While I liked him getting one more year for depth, I'm afraid he's probably only good for Cup matches at this point.

Bit harsh that.
