Its not even just offensively he would be found wanting. The striker and attacking midfielder are so important to the way we defend from the front. Sigurdsson and Richarlison are pressing from the first whistle to the last, hungrily hunting down possession. Rooney would contribute nothing to that as he is too slow and lacks the stamina to do it. It would totally ruin the system. It pains me to say this but... even Niasse is a better option.
Did you not see the goal this season where he won the ball at the end of the game in his own half? - Near the end of the game! Stamina..

I agree there's no evidence that he'll be a good coach but equally no evidence that he wont be. but he's been the best striker England have had and kids will look up to him and respect him, I'm not saying make him a first team coach but surely he'd have something to offer, especially for the younger players.

History is littered with boss players being rubbish managers and coaches. Conversely there are rubbish players who have done the opposite. It's hard because many top players get frustrated when the people they are coaching cant do the stuff they could.

If we get him we get him through his own merit as a coach, not because he was a good player at another club. Let him earn it if that's what he wants to do.

So you honestly couldn't see Rooney against them this weekend? - Lifting the fans. Bit of fear in the rs. Fire in his eyes. Undeniable quality. Knows how to win against the top teams. No fear.

What are you going on about? Surely I'm quoting a post from 5 years ago.

Was this in the MLS mate? Its a pub league played at walking pace.

No top professional footballer goes there before their mid 30's. Says it all, its a retirement league.

Just a feeder division for the masters football.
Bayern paid $22M for an MLS player this January. Guess its feeding champions league clubs now, huh?

How many other transfers like that have happened recently? It’s only because he’s a talented young kid like a Tyler Adams or a Chris Durkin. The MLS is getting better but it’s still a way off. I mean Bradley Wright-Phillips is still Raul our there.

One or two players being good there doesn't make the standard good. The Brazilian league is a poor standard but you get loads of good players from there for example.
