I'd have him back for sure, his experience would be invaluable surely. I know some people still hold a grudge but he obviously still has a fond affection for the club.

Are you messin?

A fond affection indeed. I have a fond affection for French Fancies, it doesn't mean I should be the CEO of Mr Kiplings.

Also he has zero managerial/coaching experience so I am not sure what is invaluable there.

I'm quite partial to French Fancies too but I don't wish to be CEO of mr Kipling, not sure of the relevance in this.
His football experience would be invaluable as I'm sure you know or are you just messin?

Yep, he captained england and utd, he defo has leadership qualities that our young players could benefit from. Also, he was not given a fair changce here last time around,he was playing for fat fat sam!!!

We are talking as a coach or manager here right?

His experience as a player is not really that relevant in these roles, I mean it CAN be but there are plenty of great players who made rubbish managers and coaches and vice versa.

Also he is a rat. There is always that.

Oh and the relevance of the French fancies (of which I could just go one now...) is that having an affection for something doesn't mean you should automatically be allowed to have a massive say in how they are run.

Richarlison left, Lookman or Walcott right. Rooney up top and Siggy just behind for this derby would be interesting. I'm reading the derby thread and some are asking for DCL. One or 2 for Tosun. Some say keep Richarlison with Bernard left....
I just wonder, but I also wonder. Rooney to hold the ball up and bring the others into play.

As a premier league striker?
I’m not sure he’s better than any of them currently. Which is why he was played deeper all last season.
Even when played up top, he would occupy the same space as a midfielder at times.
Yes as a premier leauge striker, he was on 11 last year by new year.

I got married to my first wife back in the eighties. We got divorced after just a few years and she moved to another country. Haven't seen her since. If she came back now would I fancy her? - most likely, but I certainly would not want to get back into a relationship with her. Those days are long gone and so is she.
Never mind, there is always the football!

I think he was brilliant and have no grudge. I also have a fond affection for the club but it does not enable me to play for it! Rooney is simply over the hill at top level, it happens to everybody. Just look at the current team which is getting really interesting and for most players the best is yet to come, for Rooney the best was long ago.
