Selling gueye will be our biggest mistake this season

I'm still optimistic, but then that's all I can do as a blue. Gueye sale was surely not all our decision, and keeping him here longer when he wanted to go was also not going to work, even though he#s a committed and loyal professional.
Now that he's gone, I think Delph, Gbamin and Davies are the right way to try and replace him, in a different way to how he plays. I think Schneiderlin and Gomes together don't have enough energy and bite, and Davies is not the same kind of player, so we have to just hope that either one of them comes good in a new role. We can adapt to this, and don't forget an improved Mina and Keane, and better energy all around the pitch will help improve. What we lose in Gueye's drive, we will gain through Iwobi, Kean and an improved Bernard providing pace and energy.
It's early days but perhaps Gueye made up miles and energy for other 2 midfielders and Schneiderlin, Siggy and Gomes are all too similar in their pace and power and so we need, I think, the three midfielders to be
1) Gomes, Schneiderlin or Siggy
2) Davies, Gbamin or Delph
3) Iwobi, Siggy or Bernard

DOes that make sense? So at least 1 with pace, 1 good passer, 1 good power

You can keep a player
Pogba
Zaha

Jpg should have been his understudy or buy doucoure first before selling him.

Pogba hasn't been publicly shown to have formal contact with any of the clubs interested in him.

Also, this was Zaha's first window with it coming out he wants to leave. Similar to Gueye in January. Zaha will be gone next summer, I would bet.

....really don’t think selling Gueye was a ‘mistake’.

Players hold the power in the modern game, when they push for a move it invariably happens. We kept hold of Stones against his will and it backfired, Lukaku left when he wanted to go, as did Barkley.

I have no issue with Gueye leaving, it’s what happens. Looking forward to seeing how we play when Gbamin is fit and firing, players come and go.

Once we've sorted the defence, midfield and attack,we'll be sound. I don't know why people are so pessimistic.

AGAIN, we promised him the move so he would stay in January. This isn't that complicated. You can't just KEEP a player. That's ridiculous. Imagine ever trying to sign someone again.

You don’t want to keep a discontent player unless you have to. He wanted to go. We technically brought in a replacement that got a freak injury in training. That is horribly bad luck
