He obviously feels that he can still play, but the manager felt that Jake was the better option for us. It's a different scenario for Ireland with their limited resources, and I think standards for international football are generally much lower than for the Premier league in any case. So I think that it might be fair for him to expect to play for a bit longer.

Of course Kenwright got stuff like this right. When you win nothing and overstay your welcome, what else is there to do but to lean in on it and declare yourself the truest of blues.

Maybe you’re right there, I don’t get that from him tbh. Must think he can still do a job, whilst it’s clear he cannot.

TBH, I meant it more of a dig at the club for putting him in that position that he was still playing, instead of phasing him out properly and getting in a replacement.

This lot are no better. They're keeping hold of a clearly failing manager.

Good points, but I'm Irish and he really needs to get off the stage.

His body can't do it. It's bizarrely needy of him to keep on truckin'.

If he loves the game that much, join a good five-a-side. He's shot. Others would use an "i".
