The players have found fault with Martinez Koeman, Unsworth, and Allardyce if that's the case.

Always the managers fault, never the players is it? I really can't stand what we've become as a club.
Unsworth and Ferguson removed Mirallas and Schneiderlin from a training session. I think this tells you all you need to know about the rotten apples at the club.

Get shut of those two players.

As for Williams/ Jags etc, I think they're just past their sell by dates. I hold no real grudge against them other than this, and really it's the club's hierarchy/ previous managers' fault for letting us get to a position that we rely on them so much. Similarly with the left back and striker situation. Baines needed proper back up, Martina is what he is, and we shouldn't have took a chance on him - I presume if he was back up cover for Coleman whilst bringing Kenny through, no one would regard him so terribly. And not replacing Rom was an absolute disaster. Plus a couple of punts who didn't do anywhere near as well as expected in Klassen or Sandro.

Most of our players seem to struggle in the backbone department - though I think some of the younger cohort might be more resilient, I hope they just don't get contaminated.

I think Unsworth was put into a terrible position by not giving him any more than temporary charge. The players have now seen out 3 managers and are in the process of getting rid of their 4th. No wonder they feel they are untouchable. Whoever comes in next has to have some big cajones to stick it out past getting rid of the rotten and getting himself established as the man in charge.

They're different players though.

Only 1 of the 14 players who got on the pitch on Saturday played a PL game under Martinez, and 3 of them have only played under Allardyce.

I'm not going to lie, I can only make it to Goodison 3~5 times a season. I've been going for years now, and I've noticed a steep decline in atmosphere. All I see there now are supporters with their arms crossed, bellowing out insults to our players. It feels like a pressure cooker there, and I really hate it.

Get behind the manager now, show the players that we expect them to perform.

i mean, I get the gist of what you are saying but...why? Why get behind a manager that is beyond tactically clueless? Why get behind a manager who said "we need to be more 'boring' and be last on match of the day" after we had 2 shots on target in FIVE GAMES? Why get behind a manager who never takes responsibility for the team he sets out?

I agree to be honest, and I think it's partly due to attitude problems of both some of the recent players and staff - from the Mirallas/Schneiderlin thing, players wanting loan moves away and now Allardyce being a coward and playing a crap team and then blaming the players for it on Saturday.

All of these attitude problems are most brutally exposed for all to see though when you compare the rest of the team and staff's attitude to Seamus Coleman's performance the other night. Despite being out with a horrific injury and being faced with a first start in a massive game at Goodison, he puts everything into his performance; teamwork, application and even just a simple willingness and courage to take responsibility in everything he did. Imagine if the rest of them had even a semblance of that.

Absolutely brilliant post which nails what lies at the heart of Everton's erratic experience post-Moyes.

Allardyce is treating his tenure as a relegation fight. When he was brought in we were struggling and a few points picked up meant realistically we're now safe.

The problem is hes still treating it like a relegation fight and thought we couldnt get anything at Arsenal- Ill play 8 defensive players and hopefully we can nick a goal or draw 0-0. He would have had one eye on Palace where I bet we play the same team as we did against Leicester.

Pretty much this.

Also. Our future is our youth. The next manager HAS to be somebody who embraces that and gives them a chance to develop. Bar Coleman, Rooney, Geuye, Walcott and Siggy I'd get rid of everyone over 25. Bring in a top LB, creative CM and LCB (and striker if Tosun proves not to be good enough) and we're good to go.

I said it earlier mate, even if he gets an 8th or 9th place finish, the board will see that as justification to let him see out his final year.

If there is a final year that is. If there is maybe it's optional on both parties who knows?

One thing that wouldn't surprise me is if he walks away in May before he gets sacked. His retirement pot is nicely topped up and he can blame Walsh/Koeman/Jimmy Martin for his tenure. A life of pontificating on MOTD awaits.

While I think there is an element of that I do feel that sometimes players are unfairly judged cos they earn big money. A football squad is the sum of it's parts, manager, coaches, fitness people, players, and without them all combining it just doesn't work.

By all accounts senior players voiced concerns many times to Martinez but were always ignored. While such circumstances don't justify 'downing tools' it's hardly going to motivate the players to go the extra mile. There are similar tales of life under Koeman too, imagine being a FB this year being left hung to dery game after game. Of course you're always gonna get bell***s in a squad of 30 men too and it's the technical staffs job to force them out or turn them around.

The majority of players just want a tactical plan that works for them and I don't see us having that for years.

I think we would like Fonesca. And I think there's every chance he'll leave Shakhtar at the end of the season.

It's just a case of getting there without too much damage.

From things i heard at the time, he was more than willing to come a couple of weeks after we sacked Koeman mate, i think he'd come now should be approach him with a concrete offer
