Other forums reckon the appeal itself has been turned down.

Who'd have thought?

I believe the club's plea was: "Ahh eh, go on, let him play for us. Dont be a cnut. Go 'ed mate. Please?!"

The initial application was KB'd on Monday mate, that's why Moyes has had to go to that there London to plead the lads case

Well, im fairly sure this is the first time mate.

Banega Work Permit declined
We understand that the work permit application for Ever Banega, who played last night for Valencia in their 3-0 Europa Cup win, has been rejected. Speculation is that it may be granted on appeal...

The first application would look at the basics involved, the international appearances and such like, which we assume he would fail. Then we would go to appeal and plead special circumstances.

Im fairly sure that if the 1 today is rejected we get another chance. You can only appeal once.

Aye was just looking on the web for that type of thing mate. Just seemed to remember someone saying that the initial one was knocked back automatically just on the base of his stats at international level. So there was never any chance of it being given in the first place then. Been waiting all day as well for news on it as I like the look of him and really hope he joins

i think the toffeeweb article is just a stab in the dark.

theres no source or explanation.

also from what i understand , this is just the first hearing.
if he does get denied (which it will) then he should get it on appeal.
(if he dont , then the double standards by the home office and prem would be too big to ignore imo)

im waiting for a more official source

I don't see the point in this long winded appeal process. Surely if the international appearances aren't enough then at the first hearing you'd revert to 'but the lad is regarded as an exceptional talent and future star for a top 10 ranked international team'.

What's the point in waiting a bloomin' week just to say that.

Get it done with already!
