I agree with quite a lot of that mate but it's all very one sided.
A lot of extreme views here on both sides, but as usual the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The club is, without doubt, being grossly mismanaged at the moment and, with the appointment of Allardyce, has regressed to pre Moyes days. Ross himself has not behaved in a way which will enamour himself with the fan base. Personally, I think a lot of that is down to him being thick and allowing himself to be influenced by his management team, but that still doesn't excuse the way he has behaved.
Ross never developed as well as we hoped and expected, but lets not forget he is still just 24 and players in his position don't usually mature for another couple of years or so. Jesse Lingard for example is a year older, and just started to show signs that he could develop into a proper playmaker.
Let's not re-write history either. For the last 4 years he's been our only true creative player and, whilst being inconsistent, we only ever really played well as a team when he played well. Anybody please quote me a game we played well over that period when Ross wasn't in the team and pulling the strings. I can't remember one. Second half against Sunderland away last season maybe?
Being our only creative player meant he was often man marked or doubled up on. Playing for Chelsea teams won't be able to do that, plus he'll be playing with better players and will have more options when in possession. If he recovers properly from his injury, I can see him being a success at Chelsea and getting a lot more game time than many on here seem to think.
I want to wish him well. I really do. But the way he has acted prevents me from doing that. Maybe we should take a cue from the Besiktas fans, many of whom now also follow Everton. Maybe not. I feel angry at the club for allowing this to happen, angry at the player for the way in which it happened, but overall a deep feeling of sadness at the prospect that the best player to come out of our academy since Rooney is going to fulfil his potential at one of our rivals and not us.
