Couple of us on twitter have got the tifo ready for him for next season. Don't worry boys and girls, it'll be great.

Isn’t it a little convenient to blame the club rather then Barkley and his agent manufacturing an exit that is best for them and leaving the club out of pocket by millions ?

It’s not as if he wasn’t offered improved terms to stay and he may the decision to leave was it.

If he wanted to leave that’s fine (As an Everton fan I wouldn’t) but the way he left shafted the club big style.

Then his ‘people’ tweet that the club will always be in his heart is just nauseating cringeworthy clap trap. Sorry but I cannot share in the Barkley love in some on here see to have.
I agree with quite a lot of that mate but it's all very one sided.

A lot of extreme views here on both sides, but as usual the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The club is, without doubt, being grossly mismanaged at the moment and, with the appointment of Allardyce, has regressed to pre Moyes days. Ross himself has not behaved in a way which will enamour himself with the fan base. Personally, I think a lot of that is down to him being thick and allowing himself to be influenced by his management team, but that still doesn't excuse the way he has behaved.

Ross never developed as well as we hoped and expected, but lets not forget he is still just 24 and players in his position don't usually mature for another couple of years or so. Jesse Lingard for example is a year older, and just started to show signs that he could develop into a proper playmaker.

Let's not re-write history either. For the last 4 years he's been our only true creative player and, whilst being inconsistent, we only ever really played well as a team when he played well. Anybody please quote me a game we played well over that period when Ross wasn't in the team and pulling the strings. I can't remember one. Second half against Sunderland away last season maybe?

Being our only creative player meant he was often man marked or doubled up on. Playing for Chelsea teams won't be able to do that, plus he'll be playing with better players and will have more options when in possession. If he recovers properly from his injury, I can see him being a success at Chelsea and getting a lot more game time than many on here seem to think.

I want to wish him well. I really do. But the way he has acted prevents me from doing that. Maybe we should take a cue from the Besiktas fans, many of whom now also follow Everton. Maybe not. I feel angry at the club for allowing this to happen, angry at the player for the way in which it happened, but overall a deep feeling of sadness at the prospect that the best player to come out of our academy since Rooney is going to fulfil his potential at one of our rivals and not us.

Mate. In what way am I blaming the club RATHER than Barkley?. Read the highlighted bits again.

Barkley has behaved very poorly in this whole affair and I don't think I'll ever forgive him or wish him well. But let's not pretend that the club couldn't have handled this better either. Or pretend that he's not been an important player for us over the last 4 years, or that we won't miss him in the future unless we're able to bring in somebody new, who can deliver what he used to for us.

Mismanagement of the club? What were they supposed to do when the little bellend decided to run his contract down? Sell him to another club? We did that, but Roscoe wouldn’t play ball, and pulled out.
Some Evertonians seem to think we have been prevented from taking our rightful position at the top of the tree these last thirty years just because we were mismanaged. I wonder do Newcastle and Villa and Sunderland and Wolves and Leeds fans all think the same, but for the ‘mismanagement’ they’d all be Man United. We’ve done amazingly well for a team in Walton to hold on to a top 7 berth for the last 20 years, through shrewd management and recruitment. But there’s no divine right for us to be there. We could do a Wloves tomorrow, drop down and never come back up.
Mate

I agree Barkley has acted deplorably and, as my post said, will never wish him well for what he has done. But if you really believe that the club could not have handled this whole affair better and prevented it getting to this stage, then I think you and I have absolutely polar views on how well our club is being run.

I think our club is an absolute shambles at the moment and you'll probably find that the majority of our supporters agree with me.

I’m gutted he’s gone, but can’t blame the lad. It’s his job & he has a duty to himself to be the best he can be & end his career with medals. He wasn’t going to do that here.

He literally carried us for 2 seasons, but suffered due to the lack of quality & movement around him. Clear for anyone to see, except the morons screaming abuse at him.

This won’t reflect well on us when he’s showing what he can do & the tv pundits & press are queuing up to say how he had to leave Everton....
And yet he could have made us 20m more if he'd signed earlier.Wonder how much of that he now has in an off-shore account.

Says it all about him that he's not had a single word of thanks to say to Everton, the club that gave him his chance, nurtured him from a young age and turned him not only into an England international player, but a multi millionaire too, meaning neither he or his family, or their next generations, need to worry about money for the rest of their lives. What an ungrateful twonk he is.

He thanked the club and staff on instagram a few days back

“Despite a challenging few months I’ve loved every minute of my time at Everton and would like to thank everyone at the club, coaches, players and members of staff I’ve worked with for everything you’ve done for me over the past 13 years”

Instagram!

Should be standing with a sandwich board outside Goodison for all the club has done for him.

Also not forgetting the 20m plus wages he cost us by not joining Chelsea in the summer. Vile character.
