i agree with that, and don't blame him for moving on to what is undoubtedly a club which is more likely to see him winning honours in the short career that Ross, and all footballers have.
But, he, or probably more accurately, his agent, appears to have turned down the move in the Summer to get himself a better deal financially now. Chelsea have saved in the order of 20 million pounds by his decision, so he's effectively cost us that.
If he ever wants to do a Rooney and come back, then I think he'll owe us 20 million, plus interest. I certainly won't be welcoming him back to Goodison when he's with the Chelsea squad, and he'll, quite rightly, likely get dogs abuse from our support, both at Goodison and down at the Bridge
It'll be interesting to see how he gets on, and, with better players around him, he should improve at Chelsea, but it's by no means certain that he will. It's pretty much a no lose situation for Chelsea, unless his injury has a long-term effect, if he doesn't make it as a first team regular, then they'll sell him for a tidy profit.
I think it was a combination of Chelsea and Ross/Agent who made the decision to cancel the transfer.
Not going to be fit till January. They would have been paying him 150k per week while he recovers.
Sit tight at Everton and get back to fitness, Chelsea save in excess of 20 million on fee and wages and Ross/agent pick up extra 5 million as a signing on fee.
If i was agent thats what i would have went for or even suggested it to Chelsea.
