By which point we should be telling him to 'koff

For the money we'd have to outlay(even if we had it) he's not worth it...better and cheaper options out there.
Had his chance to be a blue...choose a different path...so it's a 'koff from me too

Have to agree. If he thinks he can go and have another big move somewhere taking him to 31/32, then thinks he can come and do a fair well gazza season for us then NO chance!

Although still a quality player, he has lost bits to his game that he was doing 5yrs ago. Not expecting a immediate decline but he will be slowly on the decline now, imagine by 32 he won't be offering the same quality on a football pitch.

It's now or never IMO.

Just can't see him playing for us again. And to be honest if he wants come back when he's 31/32 I'd jib that one!

Going by the rumours of transfer targets this summer ( Bale £100m, Suarez £50m) Rooney has got to be worth more than £30m?

To a rival, I think so.

United bought the title for £20+million when they bought RVP from Arsenal. I can't see them doing the same by selling Rooney to Chelsea for a low price and handing them the title.

Remember listening to his interview on talksport and him saying he'd only play for utd and Everton in England. Wonder if that turns out true ha...

I have to agree, especially if Suarez is worth £40-£50m. He'll be 28 in October but rat-face will be 27 in January. The Uruguayan still has a long time to run on his contract, whilst Wayne has two years left, but that tends not to be too much of a consideration until the final 12 months.

I expect that it's common knowledge in the game that Rooney wants to leave and United want to sell (despite their posturing), so Chelsea are trying to take advantage of that. If Arsenal turn their attention away from the Liverpool striker or Spurs come into the bidding armed with cash from the sale of Bale his price could quickly escalate.

With the English premium he should probably be not too far off what the RS are asking for their man.

This has got to be the oddest saga in the PL i have ever seen, UTD the most successful team in the PL, and he wants to leave?

The only reason he wants to leave are a number of reasons

1. Off the field problems, or a problem with a member of the team.
2. He just wants more money, if he is on that alleged £200k a week, he wont get much more than that at chelsea? £250k? a week? If he decides to leave for an extra £50k a week - it shows the character of him, and moreso that scummy agent of his.
Simple; doesn't get on with Moyes....also could be scummy agent as well

Got it in one. I wouldn't put it past Moyes to hardly play Rooney at all, and come up with 'football reasons' for not playing him. If Rooney doesn't go in this window he will really start to kick off and could simply walk in January. This whole business is going to get nasty, and despite everything, I have some sympathy with Rooney.

Man u knew that when Moyes came, that would put Rooney nose out of joint. There had been rumours that these two have made up. Fergie being is usual crafty self knew that and had to paint Rooney in a bad light before Moyes came so it was a case of him already leaving before Moyes joined or Moyes keeps him and saved the day. Fergie put his plan in action when he left him out of the Champion League game against Real Madrid. None of this maybe true.

I was thinking this aswell. Moyes would be crucified by the fans if the first thing he did was to sell Rooney for what could be construed as 'personal reasons' to a genuine potential title challenger. Instead, Fergusion tell the world that Rooney had handed in a transfer request (both Rooney and Phelan have since said he didn't and it quite upset by it) Moyes has made out he wants to keep him and he looks good in training (His part done) while dropping in to Rooney comments that he's not as inportant as he thinks he should be. All this, then he takes no part in the friendlies abroad for a supposed hamstring injury. All very, very fishy. Especially since the whole manager thing was supposed to have happened within a week or so, after the Rooney transfer request saga, but has since come out it was sorted months before. Collusion, is a very real possibility here.
