Roberto Martinez discussion

I'd play Barry in CD if anywhere. Besic/McCarthy I wouldn't argue with....McCarthy/Barkley or Besic/Barkley I wouldn't argue with either, tbh.
Yeah but dave you sound like you're accommodating Barry, more square pegs in round holes

Stones was on the bench today,if he's on the bench he's fit,if so he should be playing,if Barry isn't performing he should be either on the bench or not in the squad wouldn't you say?

In Distin's position. The feller's finished. He's a disgrace now.

Don't see how you can say he is a disgrace, he is too old, that happens to people, if he was 20 and couldn't be bothered then maybe, but to call a player who is to old to physically do the job he is being asked to do is a bit lame.

Only as a stop gap until January. That'd be my strategy. Barry can do that role well.

Martnez must surely see no that the CBs are going to cost him his job if he doesn't punt them. He obviously cant wait for Stones to get back and drop one of them, but he really needs both gone from the club.

His attitude is woeful. That's where the disgrace comes in. He comes across as not arsed. He sounds like he's a bit of bother for Martinez behind the scenes but the manager has to persevere through necessity.

I know what you mean mate but like I said Stones has been on the bench the last two games,if he's fit for the bench he's fit far as I'm concerned,if he isn't he shouldn't be in the squad

But Dave does Roberto see that. Post match comments may be interesting if he makes any.

I agree. He should be on the pitch. It's worrying Martinez isn't recalling him.

We need to build a team around Besic, Barkley and McCarthy in the central area of midfield, Besic sitting, Barkley and McCarthy ahead of him, that has the potential to be a world class midfield.

No other midfielder has the drive and ability to run at teams like Barkley, but he's heavily marked played behind the striker, play him deeper and he has time to choose what he wants to do and then he is a match winner.

After Monday I thought this was clear, but then he gets shifted wide to accommodate Barry.

Barry will not win you games, Barkley will, play him in his best role Bobby FFS.

Still can't get over his post match comments. Absolute joke the stuff he came out with.

Our defence has been poor all season but the way he threw them under the bus ala Rodgers whilst pretending like we were the better side is laughable. Even if we had Maldini at the back today it would have finished 0-0 and that's the issue. With 3 CAM's shoehorned into the side your best bets a draw, not good enough.

Martinez is turning us into a joke outfit. Fannying around football, in your own half possession with a complete inability to break down even the worst of oppositions. Go a goal down and it's game over. No pace, playing 37-year-olds in the starting XI as we have nobody else. Signing 28m pound strikers and starving them of any service whatsoever, then playing other players out of position just to play certain players. We're pathetic. We all knew today would be the day Southampton picked up their next victory. Martinez needs to turn it around quickly or he'll lose the support. Finishing 10th and getting to last 16 of Europa League just will not do.
