Defo shoulda destroyed Oldham that day with that squad.

Remember Jags debut me, he was terrible, wondered what the hell we had signed, been worth every penny since like.

Carsley, Graveson, and AJ alone shoulda been enough in that game. Bringing on the Yak as well.

Point is it's about survival in cups...we've been crap in them in most seasons. We've managed a SF and a QF thus far this season...something we haven't done in 32 years.

90 minutes from a second SF...180 from a cup.

What if we get a replay and ET mert?

We are 3 wins away from our first trophy since 1995. We could still finish 5th. Howard has finally been dropped. Kone did not play today. It seems our Catalan Magician is starting to realize his old tricks just aren't working, and has a book full of new ones ready to try out.

COYB.

Season is far from over, so there's no overal view anyone can give. Up to now though we have two very good cup runs in the bag and are scoring and playing like the Brazil 1970 team. Top half finish with that and I'm content with the seasons work. And I suspect most others will be too.

I thought you said top 6 at the start of the season now it's midtable? I consider finishing two season in midtable in a row is a regression. I like most of his signings but he has to win more games in the league.

As for the cup surely if Martinez manages to win one of course it is a magnificent achievement but bearing in mind this team is still to face a Sky team in the FA Cup I can hold my breathe and hoping for the best. FA Cup represents a better chance to progress as it is a one leg game is it...

I jusr reread the Martinez story in the Liverpool Echo where he talked about the WBA goal.

He said that he does not have a player on the far post at corners because it takes a player from another area and because of catching the other team off-side. Surely when have a load of shortarses in your team and the other team is stronger in the air then it makes all the sense in the world to have a bloke on the post?
