Roberto Martinez discussion

Take a look around lads, look to the man to your right, look to the man to your left, we are about to embark on what could be the greatest battle this forum has ever seen, there will be no room for fence sitters, if you sit on the fence, that fence will be burnt.

On 1 corner we have the mighty Cult, a bastion of all things Everton, the good guys, these people only want the best and firmly believe in NSNO, if you join this group, you are proper Everton.

In the other corner, the vermin none of The Plotters, EVIL people who only want to watch the world burn, if you join this group, you will not taste victory, I see only pain in your future.

Pick a side, but know this, this 1 is to the death.

In Martinez we Trust.

Reading some of these posts I think a lot of you love when Everton lose more than when they win. It makes for very enjoyable reading. Maybe you should get to bed you're getting "loose" with your words and I don't want to see you "lose"

Boy, you don't want to play with fire. If I dare crack my laptop out I'll send you to bed with your tail in between your legs ;)

Back on point (minus my ridiculous mixup before) nobody wants us to get beat (made sure I didn't make the same mistake twice there). It's people have legitimate concerns with only winning 4 games at home all season and having a nice record of conceding so many goals

I'm really not the grammar police but it was too easy. lol

I understand the concern and I don't like the record much myself. However, there is no need for panic. He has Everton in and around the position it has been for the last decade, there is no fear of relegation and offensively Everton are towards the top. The defensive concerns can be fixed. He missed making a move for a keeper sooner and hind sight is 20/20. I have no doubts he will make good on that this summer. Secondly he let fan favorite and savior John Stones, have too much freedom and creativity in the back line. Needs to focus him on defending first and being cute with the ball second. Everton really need a physical defender back there to pair with Stones if Everton keep hold of Stones.

Just don't see a need to change managers. Who's to say the next guy doesn't come in and totally miss the mark? Grass always isn't greener.

I can only think he saw Howard's reasonable form toward the end of last season and felt he'd turned a corner (I did the figures elsewhere and they were better than the first part of the season up until Christmas when he got injured). He'd also boxed himself into a corner by handing Howard a new contract at the end of his first season here. I dont think it helped either that we had a player like Robles who would put up with being #2 and place no pressure on Martinez to pick him over an out of form #1.

Whatever the case, I think all recent comments from RM indicate strongly that the "Secretary for Defence" is being punted this summer...about two summers too late.

I actually blame Moyes for not punting the clown in about 2012
