Roberto Martinez discussion

It beggars belief that with an hour and a half to go before the biggest game of our season so far, there are boys on here more interested in running down our manager than savouring the moment and hoping we extend our recent good form to six unbeaten games.

I bet dollars to donuts some of these guys will post later on, if we win, that reaching the League Cup semi final is "papering over the cracks" :whip:
I cant figure it out either mate. They sound to me like they'll be praying for a Boro win tonight. I dont envy them at all. It must be horrible when you cant support your on team.

If Lukaku and others dont move into space, Deulofeu cant find him...that has a lot to do with Kone's movement alleviating Lukaku. Ditto concerning Barkley's link up play with Kone/Lukaku.

See how it's all integrated and not down to just one player?
Yes, I am aware that it would be more difficult for Deulofeu if the other professional footballers stood still, rather than move into the added space his inclusion as an actual threat creates.

No, my targets for Moyes NEVER included a good cup run, because he was a coward and a dullard in cups and never had the boldness or audacity to come up with big wins in them. I expect better from Martinez.

7th place on 60 points: I'm setting that as an acceptable minimum, not a maximum.

fair play

It seems some want Martinez to fail, they need him to fail regardless of how it affects Everton just to say "see I was right".
Sigh. That is just as stupid as it gets. The reason for the moaning is surely because they want Everton to do better, isn't it? If everyone was happy with things no one would moan, surely?

Yeah, as your avatar shows, you keep a very open mind on things pertaining to the manager. "Straight Outta Ideas"

Oh no. It means you want the team to win, because obviously that would still mean the manager has no idea.
Dave I said to you 4 short days ago, I'm more than willing to change my mind on Martinez, if we go on a run win 7 in 10 win 8 in 12 what ever, that will do fact is we don't win Back to Back under him in recent months and we are currently 9th after a season finishing at our lowest point since 05/06.

You need to understand that this isn't good enough And to his credit he has created the best squad we have had in the PL era so if he fails with that, then that reflects where he is at as a manager and it will also harm us if the squad falls apart.

Think it could be all over for him if we don't get a result tonight. Picking Osman and Cleverley is playing into the hands of his critics. The non s/hithouse option would be to go with Barry and Gibson in the centre with kev and Deulofeu out wide. Instead he's backed his unfit waste of a summer signing and a man who has barely played any football this season.
