Roberto Martinez discussion

His 2 seasons have been so contrasting I'm not sure there is any game that would be symptomatic of Martinez' reign
Bouremouth sort of was but not in the way that article describes. 1st half did some good things and we're taking care of business (1st season) and 2nd half was underwhelming and poor (last season). Our biggest issue atm is consistency

We win on Saturday and this thread would be 50 pages shorter. Simple. The level of fume over an annoying away draw is incredible. Get a grip and see where we are at the end of the season. No one in their right mind wants to risk sacking him before then right lads? Right? If you do think he should be sacked, let the rest of us know so we know just how idiotic you are.

Any replacement for Martinez must have operated at the very highest level before. None of this Moyes/Martinez punching above their weight bs. It's the reason the kopites got rid of Brenda and brought in Kilppety. For that reason AVB stands out as the man who has managed at the very highest levels at home and abroad. He also is unlikely to stand for any of the defensive atrocities that have been perpetrated recently by the Catalan.

Eh?

Do you remember how bad Chelsea's defence were when he was there?

I really must be missing something and not reading the results properly this season.

How many games have we lost this season and what are doing tonight.

One bad second half at the weekend though lad.

(honestly though, think this seasons been a vast improvement over last. We've remembered how to score again and whatever Bobby is doing with Rom is clearly working).

And we've got Geri back and that man has made such a difference.

Bournemouth was a horror show but I'm not jumping on the Martinez hate train just yet. I'm not confident about tonight, though. :(

2013-14 > 2015-16 > 2014-15

First season under Martinez we were both defensively and offensively sound, last season we were neither, this season just offensively. Sort the back out and we'll be looking healthy come the summer.

The choice now is between being relegated or changing the manager.

Mclaren in.

Your opinion is invalid

Not his fault that he was the victim of a dressing room coup involving terry et al.

You're speculating

We know that Chelsea's defence was abysmal when he was there, we don't know what went on behind the scenes.

While I'm typing this, I've just seen a post of yours that sagey just quoted. Did you really want Martinez sacked and McClaren brought in? o_O

You mean the England job where he failed miserably or the Wolfsburg job where he failed miserably
Ok I hold my hands up but we were an extremely precarious position at that point last season and I felt a change would do us good. We survived and now we've got the chance to reassess and bring in a far higher quality manager.
