Roberto Martinez discussion

Ok read that back and go and Wikipedia history of Newcastle 1995 to 2015 and see how that attitude done for them.

Your impatience and need to instant satisfaction again belies your naivety. It's because you were reared and brought up in a time of comfort. Santa wasn't bringing you second hand TVs that you'd dote over.

You're also well versed with social media and the feeling of self worth through opinion. Even when that opinion is wrong and you would benefit from listening a little more of those with experience.

Again it's not your fault but it shows. It's why pretty much everyone is disagreeing with you in here.

It's not instant gratification at all. Like Davek you are showing that you do not understand the modern premier league. Lukaku has not just joined, Stones has not just joined, Martinez has not just joined. This Geordieism you speak of is a club condoning swapping managers multiple times even mid season. If you look through my rational posts (as in the ones not from Christmas last year) I've called for a minimum of three years for a new manager. I was a staunch fan of Moyes as well so this image of a FIFA beaut looking for instant return is lazy and is just a way to avoid debating the issue which is this:

By the end of this season this team will have largely been together for three seasons. Nothing short term about that on the premier league. Martinez will probably be one of the prem's largest serving managers. In a years time two or three of Lukaku Stones Deulofeu and Barkley will not be here if we don't win something or qualify for Europe. If you think they will stay on a promise of 'next season lads, look how pretty the football is' you don't understand the premier league. This team will be dismantled of success does not arrive soon and when will we have that type of talent again.

I perfectly agree with you having a go at lids who never wanted Martinez or wanted him out after 6 months but three years is not short termism in the premier league. Martinez has this season potentially next to make something happen otherwise we are back to the drawing board. After two years can you see a resolution over the goalkeeping situation? A defensive solidity? A recognisable style of play? Consistency? I honestly would like to know what you think because I respect your opinion. If this was a different era is be all for the 'stay calm and carry on' approach but look around the league we are not in that world anymore.

Thanks for the reasoned response despite my unfair goading of you.

You're articulate so I'd like you to use that and outline a list of the potential implications if we get rid of Martinez v the potential benefits. A SWOT analysis if you like.

PS: he's barely been here two seasons, not three.

If we lose on Tuesday I think the 81st will have to get the sheets off the planes.
I think it's very possible.

This is by far the toughest test we've had in this tournament. They're looking odds on to come up next season. If we get through to the SFs on Tuesday I'd class it as the best result of the season so far, given the circumstances and its importance to us.

Nope?

Lost him to FUT on the Xbox.
