Roberto Martinez discussion

Atleast until the board go. If we got a FSG type owner in i think like Rodgers he would be peddled and money thrown at an emery type manager from abroad.
Azplicueta taking a yellow for stopping Spurs take a free kick quickly, something we should have done yesterday.

Kone not closing down the first goal from being struck.

Not one defender staying switched on for the 3rd and miles of space for league 1 claws players to run into.

I've said it before under the current set up their us simply no leadership or defensive structure to this side. Like moyes' lack of attacking ability cost us winning anything martinez's lack of defensive nous will also cost us.

It's so important to find a balance.
If Barkley could finish he would be world class.

Gutted Kiev won they look set to qualify past the group stage. That's our chance of getting Yarmolenko in january most likely gone can't see the owner selling him.

Was an absolute cowardice performance. No one with the guts to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Deloufeu picked up a knock which slowed him down and once it did the counter attack plan went out the window as Kone has no pace. Coleman also needs to start showing more going forward as he sure isn't at the back.

That 2nd half was one of the worst performances ive seen in a good few seasons.

4 points ahead of us despite having EL to contend with. Compare that to how we were blowing out our arses last season with having 2 games a week to contend with shows the gulf of where we are it currently.

Tagging in our hero @the sniderman here

Godspeed great one

Explain how a team with average finances should be expected to finish above the so called 'top 6' despite their finances blowing us out of the water. Go on.

Oh but it's Martinez's fault, definitely not the board's.

Like it or not 7th is realistically our best position.

Explain how a football dinosaur with an even greater financial chasm to bridge managed to get teams spearheaded by the likes of Marcus Bent Andy Johnson and Yakubu into 4th and 5th but got panned for it, whereas it's apparently now beyond our reach to even challenge the top 6 despite having a 30 million striker upfront.

It's not an impossible job, it really isn't. Stones is worth 40 mill, Lukaku 40, Barkley 40, Deulofeu 20, Coleman 20, McCarthy 20. So yes, we haven't spent as much as others but you would not find one manager in the league who would turn down these players in their team. Nearly every single side would swap their spine for ours yet even with these players we are supposed to believe we can do no better, in fact worse than the position Moyes had the likes of Neville Hibbert Jelavic and Osmam finishing? Ridiculous.

They have a stronger squad and a boss keeper
Not many injuries either - Spurs seem to have been around 4 or less for most of the season whereas when we even threaten to drip below seven another player hobbles off.

Might be a fault of different training regimes so Martinez not necessarily blameless but having an unstable backline and midfielders lacking match fitness has certainly played its part in us drawing games we should have won.

Well it didn't stop the likes of Lukaku or Deulofue joining after we did it to Utd over Baines the year before.
Slightly different when we were not offered the right money for Baines. This is too hypothetical at the moment and probably isnt worth discussing lets just hope we can say we did everything we could by getting this squad of talent up and around its peers not neighbouring West Ham and Stoke

Some on here would argue that Stoke and West Ham are our peers now and in fact given the spending difference we'd be lucky to finish in touching distance of them.

It's sometimes easier and quicker to say "you're right, I'm wrong" and then back away Ian. Saves typing all that guff.

The utter hell is this utter tripe here?

I mean what is inside your actual head?

I just don't rate the manager as much as some on here, had moyes been in charge yesterday he would have been slammed for that capitulation and rightly so. I'll praise the manager and players when they perform well but equally ill slam them when they put in gutless displays like above. It's like RAWK in here when Todgers was Shanks reincarnated you can't say a bad word without being an ISIL supporter.
