Roberto Martinez discussion

Don't worry mate, Davek's lapped out how we can get to the magical 58 point mark this season already. Having our tummy tickled by the top teams and then average midtable form v everyone else will see us nicely into 8th or 9th. Nil Satis.

Bournemouth away, still, I think we should beat them today. Bournemouth yes Bournemouth if we are cataching Leicester...

Agreed that youth and depth are our biggest obstacles right now. If Baines was in the squad rather than Galloway, we could be looking at top 3 right now as every team has somewhat struggled this year.

Who are you? Stop being impolite. Do you parents ever teach you? I don't think so.

This is a forum if you don't like it just "ignore" me. Thank you very much.
unfortunately for you i cannot ignore punks. your presence here is insulting to all decent everton fans the world over. i have been polite before so heed my warning. or you will be ruined post by post.

Roberto clearly didn't learn the Moyes Injury Time [Poor language removed] Up lesson:

Thou shall not make an unnecessary substitution away from home deep into injury time when you are hanging on to 3 points.

Fulham away 3rd November 2012.

Stop trying to be a judge. Go home. This is a free world you can say whatever you like. There is always an ignore botton out there. You are not mods so just accept the rules of this forum. Bye.

Manager isn't as good, that's the sad truth.

I'm no Martinez fanboy, but I think our mediocrity is more down to the players than it is to the manager. People need to stop creaming themselves over bang-average players like Naismith, Cleverley, Kone and Besic etc, and arguing that the likes of Gibson and Osman 'Can do a job'. They are all mid-table players, playing for a team that will end up finishing mid-table.

I don't think people who defend Roberto are necessarily saying he's a great manager. Clearly, he is not. But he's certainly better than anyone else available (at Everton's level). Yes, RM has significant limitations (particularly in setting up a defence). But he's Everton's manager for the next decade at least, and we need to accept this reality. Hell, it could be worse...Allardyce, Pulis, Sherwood , Lambert etc. Sometimes, being thankful for what you've got is a good modus operandi.

Said it before and will say it again. Martinez would make a wonderful director of football, and who knows one day he might get lucky and accumulate enough talent to overcome his lack of coaching ability. He is not a great coach though so we will continue to have incredibly talented sides finishing midtable or average sides flirting with relegation.
