I see your point, but I'm thinking that the board MIGHT be thinking "Ok if we sack him in order to lift the club, we need to give the next man enough time to prepare for his first game."

I reckon that there is no way Mourinho would take us as an interim manager if his first game was against Utd in a cup semi final. But if that was out of the way and we have a place in the final.... What I'm saying is they are waiting for the right moment for a new person to come in with the best chance of making a difference on day 1.
