Make or break, lose today and I'm finally going to change my vote to "out"

Yes, I'm hanging on, I know, you're probably right

Some bloke at my boys football academy last night spotted my Everton coat and said "you're brave wearing that". I said there's always tomorrow mate.

Then at the end some woman comes up to me and unzips her coat and shows me her chest

and she was wearing an Everton shirt. See Everton fans, never hide, we take the abuse because we know we're genuine and not plastics and all those smarmy tools can do one....
*Unzips*

You know it's bad when you open a business email which says 'Everton FC tops the Pensions league' and it talks about the club sorting out staff pensions..... Then goes on about Roberto needing to show interest in his own pension after getting drubbed 4-0 by Liverpool ....

FFS, can't even escape at work!!!

All the best to everyone that's going today ... Wish I could be there.

Harlet!

I was talking to a GAA coach yesterday, he was telling me that he had been at a couple of coaching sessions with the top side in our county. They are one if the top sides in Ulster. He said they spent 30 minutes practising the throw in. For those of you who don't follow GAA to start the game the ball is thrown in between four players on the half way line. The throw in gets you on the ball first.
The guy I was speaking to asked their manager why he would waste so much time on a part of the game that wasn't overly important. He felt if time was spent on tackling practise then if the list the throw in they could win it back.
The manager said it wasn't about winning the throw in, it was about being first. He said my players know they are the best team, the best team gets to go first. He said they practise everything because they are the best and the best don't settle for being second at anything or part of the game. He said that if they were second in some elements of the game then maybe players would start to think they weren't the best or worst still they could win without being good at everything and that is the rot setting in. He then said we are only as strong as our weakest link, both in players and how we approach things. Everything needs to be as strong as it possibly can. Nothing breaks.
When I heard this I thought of Martinez and how he approaches things, don't practice set pieces because you may only face three in a game. In our players heads they know we have a weakness but the manager says it doesn't matter. So we are weak as a unit.
We are a professional unit everything needs to be done in detail. We need someone in charge who will not settle for being second in any element of the game.

i saw that as well and he was as evasive as ever and didn't really answer the questions put to him, particularly in respect of his immediate future. I just got the impression he knows he is out and probably tomorrow.

I'm loving the way that in recent interviews, when asked what mistakes he has made, he has come out with something along the lines of "I recognise that our success in the cup has had a detrimental effect on our league form".

So basically, he believes his mistake has been his genius in beating ONE half-decent team on the way to a cup semi-final.

The man is deluded. He really is reminding me of Brendan more and more. He needs getting rid of, unquestionably. Cup or no cup.

I loved it when Dave always used excuses line 'Europa knackered us out' or 'it's the cups this season that cause us to be where we are'.

Because, apparently, no team can do two things at once and be respectable at both. Hope we win today but if we don't hope Martinez doesn't even get back to Liverpool before he's sacked.

Bobbys face when he's put in a taxi to Wigan.
